I'm 19 weeks now and for the last 2 days, my right eye has been constantly twitching. Have an appointment with gp Monday and consultant Tuesday next week so will mention it then but anyone else had this? I am tired at the min and am just recovering from a nasty infection. It's just bloomin annoying, been driving all day and I'm home now but a couple of times I felt n should pull over. Not in any pain, just absolutely shattered. Advice anyone? My last set of bloods were only last week and all normal

Omg yassssssss, my right eye has been twitching loads! Currently 40+5, I usually get it when I'm really tired! Get plenty of sleep that usually does the trick 👍

Yes. One of my eyes constantly twitches when u am tired. So often that I don't notice anymore. I, 'very gad a lot of people asking me why I winked at them Blush

Yes! Started before I even knew! 22+2 now and still bloody twitching!

I asked the optician and she said it can be tiredness and/or lack of vitamins. But I’m still on the Pregnacare, so I don’t see how I can be deficient in anything?

No experience of pregnancy but I get the eye thing sometimes. It can happen when I am dehydrated. Try drinking more water.

Yes, I have these and so does my dad. They are called fasciculations and are really bloody annoying. I believe that eyelid twitching is the most common! If you start to feel it elsewhere in your body I would get it checked out as it can be a sign of ALS, however I doubt they would be able to do much for your eyelid. Drink lots of water, sleep as best you can and try to reduce any anxieties you may have. That's all I can suggest!

Thanks for replies, it's twitching now as I type....very annoying but hope it's just one of those weird pregnancy things that passes. I'll mention to my dr on Monday either way....,and just try not look directly at anyone until it passes 👍🏻

I have had this both whilst pregnant and not pregnant, it’s not a pregnancy thing, its related to tiredness and/or dehydration. You don’t need to worry, it will pass!

I'm not pg (sorry for crashing by came up on active) but I've had twitchy eye for 3-4 days now. I've had it before and it's usually linked to being over tired, too much caffeine, eye strain, stress, etc.
A warm compress on the eye as soon as it starts can help to stop it.

bitzy12 · 12/04/2018 19:30

Ahh thanks, will try a warm compress actually. Good to know it's nothing to worry about. Early night for me and fingers crossed I shall be less twitchy tomorrow :-)
