37 wks today... feels like an achievement as I've had a rubbish pregnancy.
My first was 16 days late after induction, no signs of being 'overcooked'.

Do I mentally need to prepare myself for another very late baby?

I've got an appointment tomorrow to discuss possible earlier induction. I really don't want another one but at the same time the idea of being pregnant for another 5 weeks and then still having to be induced feels me with dread.

Doh I forgot to say Blush
If you were very late with your first, when did your second appear?....

Right on due date! And my first was a seriously overcooked with all the resultant skin problems for the first couple of months.

happy2bhomely · 12/04/2018 13:44

First came spontaneously 10 days past due date.

Second came on due date.

Third came day after due date.

Fourth came day after due date.

Fifth induced at 38 weeks.

I always counted down to 42 weeks. Then if baby came when due it felt relatively early!

I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to it.

Why are they discussing earlier induction?

scaredofthecity · 12/04/2018 13:47

Ooo ok, so this looks promising Smile

(I'm pretty much immobile and in severe pain from pgp)

First child born at 42+5 after looooong crappy induction.

Second child made her appearance at 37+5

Strax · 12/04/2018 13:50

Is the earlier induction due to the pgp? I was 9 days over with my first and induced. Second was 4 days over.

scaredofthecity · 12/04/2018 13:53

So it really isn't a given that this one will be late at all. Grin
Induction wasnt fun and I really don't want to go through it again if I can avoid it, but at the same time I'm really struggling now.

Yes due to the pgp. They've already said no once but I've deteriorated a lot since, my pain in through the roof and I'm not tolerating painkillers very well. So midwife said I need to discuss it again with them.

First was 2 weeks late, came the day before I was due to be induced, second was 4 days late.
I think I had this exact thread around November/December last year so I feel for you! Fingers crossed you're not waiting too long

I'm in the same boat. Induction with DC1 at 16 days overdue. Really want to avoid induction this time but am also incredibly fed up! I'm a couple of days over my due date now. The thought of going over by 2 weeks is pretty hideous! Pleased to see responses that it might not necessarily happen again

Lightsong · 12/04/2018 15:48

I was induced at 13 days overdue with DD, 8 years later DS arrived bang on due date. I had convinced myself that because my first was late then my second would be late too, even booked myself in for an exam the day after my due date with DS, i didn't make it!

Namelesswonder · 12/04/2018 15:51

1st was 2 weeks late and induced, 2nd was 14 days early!

Jordan4531 · 12/04/2018 17:45

My eldest was 9 days late, my second was two weeks early... you just don't know

onemorecakeplease · 12/04/2018 18:41

Very overdue with first
10 days early with second

scaredofthecity · 12/04/2018 19:45

Thank you so much ladies. You have given me hope!

My mum had her first at 41+2, second at 43+0... third at 38+5.

I had my first at 41+1 and second at 38+3.
