I’m pregnant!! What next?!

So after 5-6 tests now I’m convinced I’m pregnant haha! This is the latest one. My last AF came on 10th March, what’s my due date likely to be? I keep working it out differently. Also, is it too early to phone for my booking appointment with the midwife? Xx

www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy-due-date-calculator

Enter the first day of your last period into this and how long your cycle is and it will estimate a due date. Congratulations! It’s also never too early to get the ball rolling with the midwife.

Lilly1207 · 12/04/2018 11:23

This one says the 15th December! What a lovely early Christmas present ☺️ Xx

Congratulations!!

There are calculators on line where you can calculate your due date. The one I did for you says 15 December 2018.

When I got my BFP I went to the doctors who gave me some leaflets on pregnancy and the midwife contact details, I believe the process is different for each area. You could have a look online to see what they say or call your doctor surgery who should know.

All the best Thanks

Thiswayorthatway · 12/04/2018 11:26

Congrats OP! Yes do contact your GP surgery but you won't be invited for a booking appointment until 7 weeks +.

ClareB83 · 12/04/2018 11:27

Google your NHS trust area name and midwife self referral. There's usually an online form to fill in and that will get the ball rolling with appointments etc.

If nothing shows up ring your GP and ask about how you get referred to the midwives. Do not book a GP appointment, they do not care.

Start or continue taking pregnancy vitamins with folic acid. Don't take normal multivitamins.

Read the NHS guidance on what you can and can't eat. Do not generically google food items as there is always conflicting advice.

Wait.

Congrats @Lilly1207! I have the exact same due date and feeling like it will be a looooong slog to 12 weeks! How are you feeling?

MissMickyD · 12/04/2018 13:40

Congrats @Lilly1207
I’m due the 17th as per my dates, Xmas will be different this year.
I phoned my local GP and asked for a midwife appt, they asked how far on I was and they sort it from there.

Lilly1207 · 12/04/2018 14:02

I’m feeling ok other than feeling a little sickly! I’ve had a bad cold too which isn’t letting up. 12 weeks feels like years away!!

I already have an 8 year old who asks when he will have a sibling almost every day! He will be so excited xx

How are you both feeling? December club!! 👶🏼👶🏼👶🏼

I feel ok. My symptoms have been pretty minimal which worries me, esp as I had a loss last year. Just occasional mild nausea. No sore boobs or even tiredness really. DH thinks boobs are bigger- lol. Ahhh so lovely that your son will be excited! I have an almost 4 yo DD who’s obsessed with the idea of being a big sister. The thought of telling her is so lovely. On your original q I have made a GP appt for next week. I expect them to refer me to local midwifery service for booking in appointment. I can’t see anything online allowing me to self-refer for that.

SadWinky · 12/04/2018 18:01

Congrats @MissMickyD too! Smile

R7589 · 12/04/2018 18:31

Hi @Lilly1207 congrats!

We are pregnancy twins as my last AF was also 10th March so EDD of 15th December Smile

I've been feeling dreadful since I found out last week. Cold, runny nose, sore boobs, incredibly moody and stressed especially at work. Feeling a little bit of nausea too but I think that might be my mind playing tricks on me.

Lilly1207 · 12/04/2018 20:22

Hi @R7589

Amazing news! Congratulations! I’m so so so tired right now! Hope all is well xx

lolli18 · 13/04/2018 06:40

And to the other ladies too xx

Lilly1207 · 13/04/2018 08:53

Awww congratulations to you all. Before I was TTC I always said I would try to avoid a December baby but to be honest, I couldn’t care less! I know it’s still very early days but I am so so so excited!! Xx

Me too, but why not, it could all work out ok 😊

Lilly1207 · 13/04/2018 14:22

I have my booking in appt with the midwife a week on Tuesday. I’ll only be about 6 weeks! Feels so early xx

lolli18 · 13/04/2018 16:29

The earlier the better really at least then you can get the relevant care and checks :)

MissMickyD · 13/04/2018 20:09

Thanks sadwinky,

I have minimal symptoms too, only give away that I’m pregnant is that I have been tired at around 2pm every day and of course the bfp and no AF!

Lilly1207, I think the sooner you get the ball rolling with the midwifes the better. At least you have a contact and are on the radar. It may be a case of filling in forms etc at your first appointment, then bloods/checks at a later date.

Love the idea of a Dec baby, Instead of the usual “buns In the oven” we are baking Xmas puddings Grin
