IVF Pregancies- when did you stop progesterone?

We had Ivf and I’m now 13 weeks. Had a healthy normal scan but I’m nervous about the fact that I have now stopped the cyclogest pessaries. The doctor gave me extra ones because I said I was concerned. However I don’t want to do any harm. When did you stop?

After about 12 weeks I think... I hated them with a passion so was more than happy to stop when it was time!

Chrisinthemorning · 12/04/2018 07:29

Was supposed to be 12 but I was scared and had a stash of extras so it was 15. Result is sitting next to me watching Go Jetters Flowers

@kalinka16 that’s reassuring, thank you. @chrisinthemorning yes that’s how I’m feeling! Did you wean yourself off them or just stop? I was on two a day but I went down to one in the evening at 12 weeks. I’m just to scared after previous losses.

I was on them for 12 weeks, gradually cut down to 1 on a night before stopping.

Now I'm taking part in a twin progesterone study and back on the horrible things. Don't know what I was thinking signing up to that!

aetw · 12/04/2018 13:52

@isthismummy yes, but if it helps right? I will do anything to have a live baby safe in my arms.

I stopped at 11 weeks- was absolutely terrified but it was fine. Now 37 +2 and anxious about other things!

aetw · 13/04/2018 06:28

@whatamuddleduck ok, 11 weeks. Ok that’s reassuring. The worry is awful isn’t it? I spend my time thinking “what does this mean” or “is this sharp pain normal?” Or “when I ate that packet of crisps did the salt effect he baby? “
Arghhh!

Another one here who was scared of stopping so did a couple of weeks extra.

((hugs)) OP, it’s a worrying time but you’ll get through it.

ellesbellesxxx · 13/04/2018 06:36

I am glad it's not just me who snuck in the extra!
I was told to stop at 7/8 weeks I think but carried on until 9/10
All was fine :)

Whatamuddleduck · 13/04/2018 06:40

Definitely anxiety provoking this pregnancy lark! I’ve found telling the midwife how worried I am helpful. Sometimes they are quite blasé, others really helpful. They sent me off for a scan last week to reassure me, which was such a relief!
Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy x

Yawningalldaylong · 13/04/2018 06:44

Yes 12 weeks was the cut off but I continued on a little longer with what I had. Your body should be suppling what you need now anyway. I was very nervous of stopping but now have wonderful 3 and 5 yr olds x

aetw · 13/04/2018 06:48

@ellesbells you are the shortest one yet at 9 weeks. Ok, so maybe I’m good then. I just keep thinking something will go wrong @whatamuddleduck thanks for all the good wishes tho @frasier et al! X

Sorry, I missed your comment @yawningalldaylong yes, with any luck my body is producing what I need but my body had let me down before hence the nerves. Fingers crossed tho as this is the furthest I have ever got.

Congratulations
I've had 4 early miscarriages and now 10 weeks pregnant after Ivf. I take 200mg twice a day until 12 weeks then reduce to once a day until 14 weeks on advice of a mc specialist.
