Nub and Skull Theory Help!

Hi everyone

I’ve been reading up lots about both nub theory and skill theory and felt ready to use that knowledge after my 12 week scan. Unfortunately I can’t find any clues!

I’ve uploaded a picture (fingers crossed it works!) with the hope that some of you lovely people will be able to offer any insight and/or guesses?

I'm new here so this is the first I've heard of these theories. I went and looked them up and couldn't find anything useful in my scan photo, very similar to you. No sign of any sort of nub, can't even see baby's legs lol. As far as I can tell from skull theory most of the markers involve being able to see the front of the head so the main clue would be the slope of the forehead. Yours looks slightly more sloping than mine but I wouldn't say very sloping... I'm not really any help! Hopefully someone with more experience will comment soon

I’ve been comparing my photo to lots online as well which is what I think is confusing me.

I’m glad it’s not just me who can’t see any sort of nub! I’m guessing it might be cause the sonographer was focusing more on the face. We did see legs though during the scan but nothing else really stood out from what I can remember.

How far along are you? Do you know the sex of yours yet?

I'm 14+3. I have had a bit of a rollercoaster owing to a higher risk of Down's so I had the CVS on Friday and got the results yesterday (all clear! Woohoo!).

The lady yesterday offered to tell me the sex and I said no I would find out with my husband at the next scan, forgetting I'm getting an extra scan at 16 weeks (check-up after the CVS) and he's not coming with me! So I should know but I don't and I feel like an idiot lol. I feel like I'm having a girl but I have no idea why! I will probably be wrong.

That does sound like a bit of a scare but I’m glad that all is okay!

I guess you could wait till the 20 week scan and find out then if he’s going to make it along to that one? Looks like I’m going to have to wait until then too. I’ve been looking at the rest of the scan pictures and they all seem to focus on the face, which is lovely but not helpful for thinking about the nub theory.

It's great you got lots of scan pictures. The midwife doing my scan seemed to be having a proper freakout after the slightly high nuchal translucency measurement so I think it's a miracle we even got one, to be honest! It's a lovely picture but no sign of nub at all that I can see, and I think baby is turning away slightly so even skull shape is hard to judge! (will try to attach my pic).
