Bleeding at 8 weeks

Hello,

Just after some advice. This morning after my morning wee, I wiped and noticed the paper was tinged slightly pink. It's really not much at all but it is definitely there.

My worry is, I haven't even had my booking appointment yet. They can't fit me in until the 20th, when I'll be over 10 weeks. So I have no midwife yet, as such. So who do I ring to speak to from here? EPU? I'm completely lost on who to call.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Hi there, sorry you’re going through this. I’ve had a lot of bleeding this pregnancy and understand your worry.

It depends if your EPU is self-referral or not. Some of them, including mine, require a referral from a midwife or your GP. So, if you it isn’t self-referral you’ll need to make a doctor’s appointment and get them to refer you.

Best wishes xxx

@RD15 thank you so much. I'll perhaps try and get a phone appointment with my GP, and see what they suggest? Thanks

Yes I would do that. Lots of women bleed during pregnancy. Although it’s ‘not normal’ it is very common. I have spotted more than I haven’t so far, plus a bright red bleed at 8 weeks. I was scanned at 9 and all was fine. They put that particular bleed down to a breakthrough bleed which happens around the time you’d be due your period- it could be the same for you given the timing.
Let me know how you get on xxx
