Hello, so I heard my baby’s heartbeat at 10 weeks 2 days and everything was fine. I have a scan on Thursday I will be 12 weeks and 6 days I’m just worrying that there going to say there is no heartbeat, what is the chances does anyone know?! I’ve had no problems except a few niggley pains in my lower abdomen, but I’ve heard there’s a MMc?!!!! Someone put my mind at ease please?!

I think everyone gets nervous before their 12 week scan, but the fact that you have already heard the heartbeat reduces the chance of miscarriage. No one will know until you've had a scan. Only thing I can suggest is just be positive and don't read horror stories before hand. Enjoy seeing your little one and congratulations on your pregnancy x

Littlefox01,
Thankyou I think I just worry far to much! I read to much on google🙈!!!

The niggely pains could be round ligament pain. I've been having quite a lot of this and 12 week scan we all fine. It's the stretching of your uterus.

LittleFox01 · 10/04/2018 08:23

I completely understand! I've suffered 3 mc's and I'm currently 36 weeks! I have worried about every little thing but the first couple of months was the worst but I just kept thinking positive even when my partner couldn't, and it got me through. I lost my first at 17 weeks, so you can imagine how hard it was getting to that stage. I had booked a private scan for exactly 17 weeks so seeing baby really helped then and to top it off we found out the sex which made it even more special 💙 we are having a boy. But as hard as it is, just stay positive! You've had no symptoms to worry over, so think of that as a good thing! Wish you all the best for your scan xx

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 10/04/2018 08:55

After you've heard the heartbeat at 10 weeks there is an incredibly low chance of miscarriage and even lower chance of mmc. You will be fine.

Chloejones · 10/04/2018 09:46

I do still have really bad morning sickness and that is supposed to be a good sign isn’t it? X

LittleFox01 · 10/04/2018 10:49

I think any sign apart from bleeding is a good sign :) they always say about bleeding and cramps, but with my mc's I only got bleeding with no cramps. I think I've cramped more during this pregnancy with everything stretching and moving. What time is your scan? X

Chloejones · 10/04/2018 12:23

20 past 1 on Thursday so nervous 😩🤚🏼 X

I can offer no advice @Chloejones but can sympathise as I'm in the same boat.
Had a scan at 8 and half weeks, saw the heart beat flickering away but now at 11 weeks I am nervous as hell again! NHS scan isn't until 13 weeks so trying to stay calm and positive since my stomach is def growing and I'm telling myself the twinges are the just the normal ligament pain and uterus stretching etc.
It's just so hard, especially for a first pregnancy and not having been through it all before.

Your not alone with the nerves but good luck for your scan and sure all will be just fine x

Chloejones · 10/04/2018 13:35

@unicornchaser

It’s so horrible I isnt it :( I have mine on Thursday I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about as I’ve had no bleeding and I’ve still got bad morning sickness I just worry too much :( I feel sick all day everyday so I hoping it still okay. I hope your okay it’s so hard not worry it’s supposed to be 5% of a miscarriage after you’ve seen the heartbeat at 10 weeks it’s just the niggley pains I mostly get them on the right side :( fingers crossed for Thursday And I hope everything is okay for you x

I was crying with anxiety as I walked into the scan room! They found heartbeat so quickly and the relief was so immense! Then I was fine for about 6 weeks until I started panicking about 20week scan! I think it's Normal to be worried. Just try and distract yourself and think about the relief you'll feel when everything is ok!

Chloejones · 10/04/2018 13:49

I just can’t wait for Thursday just to see if everything is okay so I can stop worrying

Kirta · 10/04/2018 13:51

Not long now! Are you at work? Or can you go to the cinema or swimming or out with a friend? Just to distract yourself from thinking about it? And please stop googling! Smile

Chloejones · 10/04/2018 14:01

I know I just can’t stop worrying now :( I seen the heartbeat at 10 weeks so everything should be okay 🤞🏽 I know google seems like my bestfriend and worst enemy at the minuet :( x

Speedy85 · 10/04/2018 14:02

I read that for people with multiple miscarriages who had seen a heartbeat at 8 weeks there was over a 98% chance of live birth, so the risk should even lower if you have seen it and 10 weeks I think (and probably even lower again if you don't have a history of miscarriages).

Things can go wrong but just remember the odds are massively in your favour already :)

Chloejones · 10/04/2018 14:05

Yeah I read that too but I still worry lol, I have bad anxiety anyway so this is just making it 100x worse! I worry about anything but this is horrible :( I just can’t wait to see everything is okay on Thursday 🤞🏽 It cant come quick enough x

Speedy85 · 10/04/2018 14:15

I've just had mine this morning and was anxious too, but it was all good and a wonderful experience.

Try not to worry too much. I'd put money on it all being fine with those odds.

Chloejones · 10/04/2018 14:16

@speedy85 how far are you? Congratulations!!!! I had a scan at 6 weeks everything was fine one at 10 weeks everything was fine and my 13 week one on Thursday so I just hope it’s still okay😊🤞🏽 X

Thanks - congratulations to you too Grin

I came out as 13w4d at today's scan (although I know I can't be more than 13w2 days, so might be a big baby). I had scans at 6 and 8 weeks due to an ovarian cyst and just kept focussing today on the fact that there had been a good heartbeat at 8 weeks so everything was probably going to be fine and it was. I'll have to wait a few days for Downs etc. results but the nuchal thing was under 2mm so they said that's a good sign.

You're in a much better position than most people who won't have had any scans and if you're still having symptoms that's also a good sign (I am still having severe morning sickness too). So I know it doesn't really help to say try to keep calm but just remember it's really very likely now that everything will turn out alright.

sososotired · 10/04/2018 14:30

OP I still feel like that I had my 16week check up today and was terrified that she won't find my baby! I was the same at my 12 week scan I think it's natural to worry we can't yet feel our babies move so no way of knowing what's going on in there Grin

Chloejones · 10/04/2018 14:33

Aw Thankyou for all your help!!!! You’ve all reassured me a lot!!

I will let you all know how I get on, on Thursday😁😁 x

Ah congratulations 😊 fab news!! It's lush seeing them! I saw my little one yesterday but didn't get to see much because he's now so big 🙈 lol xx

Speedy85 · 12/04/2018 18:30

Oh good I was thinking of you. It's magic isn't it. The pregnancy feels so much more real to me now since I had my scan Grin
