Hi everyone.

I am currently 9 weeks and 6 days pregnant but looking like I'm 4/5 months !! I'm am beyond exhausted but put it down to have a two year old daughter. I have gained weight and im either eating everything in sight or can't eat for days. I have had a 6 week scan and joked and said am I having twins ( I was a twin and have several sets of twins in my family) and she said it's hard to tell this early... Everyone keeps joking and asking if there's more than one baby in there as I'm already in maternity clothes!!! Just wondered if anyone else had this and just had one baby or actually turned out to be having twins!!! I'll post a picture of my 6 weeks scan

Any help would be great! Thanks ladies

I had a scan at 5 weeks with my twins as the pregnancy followed several nlmiscarriages. 2 seperate sacks were very visable. That being said I'm terrible with scan pictures and can't work out where the sack is in your picture.
At 6 week the baby/babies are so tiny that there's very little difference in the size of your womb. Your bump is probably gas for now.
It was odd of the sonographer to say they can't tell at this point.

If you were having twins it would have been noticed at your scan. Like the other poster said, the 2 sacs would be very visible.

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and huge, have been since about 8 weeks. Some people just show quicker than others.

Probably bloat. I am pregnant with twins and didn't show at all until after 12 weeks. Only really noticeable at more like 19/20 weeks.

I thought twins could usually be detected in scans as early as 6 to 7 weeks?

Identical twins can share the same amniotic sac, so maybe that's what makes the difference between can usually tell vs 100% can tell if you're carrying twins earlier on.

I know when we had a scan at 10 weeks we were told 100% that if I was carrying twins they would be able to tell. We have many twins in my family so I was nervous I might have them with our first go.

As it's not your first your tummy muscles are stretched from your first pregnancy. This means that usually you will show earlier.

This is my third and I've looked 75 months pregnant from 6 weeks! 12 week scan showed just 1 baby - we also have lots of twins in the family.
