Sugar and ketones in urine. When to be concerned?

I'm keeping half an eye on myself this time, as had blood pressure problems last pregnancy. Urine dipstick tests have regularly shown ++ to +++ ketones for about the last three weeks. Had first positive test for glucose last night about two hours after eating a meal. Reading 250mg/dl. Going to recheck an hour after breakfast this morning.
I will ring the midwife later. Just wondering if anyone can assist with interpretation? Should I be concerned? Trace protein but bp is 130/70

Have you had a GTT?

Ketones are Concerning... Are you vomiting a lot. Normally you get admitted with two plus ketones for fluids as it either means you are dehydrated or not eating enough so you need to call midwife. If you are vomiting you may need fluids

I was admitted at 3+ ketones. Are you eating/drinking enough and keeping it down?

It isn't the BP numbers as such that matter, but if they have risen from your baseline. Do you know what your BP was at your booking appointment?

I would ring your midwife and talk it through with her to get some proper advice Smile

Thanks everyone. Doesn't seem to be any more sugar after lunch. Will keep an eye on it. BP is better now than it was before my first pregnancy and no rise yet from booking.

I'm not doing anything special as regards diet, although much of it has been toast and yogurt. I also don't think I've gained a lot of weight, as was ill for the first three months and now eat more or less whatever the toddler leaves. Possibly I am not eating or drinking enough?
