Early signs of labour

This sounds silly but I've been feeling like my baby (first one) might come early. I'm currently 37 weeks +4 but have been experiencing serious twinges, and had a growth scan this week where the doctor said the baby was deeply engaged.

What symptoms have others experienced before labour? I'm excited but also don't feel completely ready, especially as I've had an awful cold for the past week and am still sniffling!

I knew I'd be early with DD, she was engaged really early and deeply from 36 weeks. And she did come early....but only two days early.

But being so convinced she would come early was not such a good thing, the last two weeks of pregnancy felt like an utter life time as I was sure I'd of gone into labour by then. It was torture! So be prepared mentally baby could only be a tiny bit early if early at all! Hopefully you'll go into labour much sooner than that, but being prepared mentally is always good.

My early signs were anger, sheer rage! I was furious and didn't understand why, plus sleeping the whole night through without waking once. The next morning I woke up in labour.

@CuppaSarah thank you!

I'd best just not think too much about it... I've heard about the rage/emotional thing just before labour, but haven't quite felt it yet (though husband might disagree)!
