I've been referred for a scan tomorrow and wondering what I am realistically likely to see? Heartbeat for example or is it too early?

Are scans this early usually done transvaginally?

Thanks

They’ll get the best view transvaginally so this is usually the preferred method I think.

We saw a heartbeat at around this gestation but if your dates are slightly off or they can’t get a great view, you might not so I don’t think it would be cause for alarm if they couldn’t.

I had an abdominal scan on Friday. I thought i was six weeks. They could see a gestational sac and yolk sac but no heartbeat, they said I was measuring at least a few days, up to a week later than I thought and they wouldn't expect to see a heartbeat yet. They didn't seem concerned in the slightest. I of course am concerned naturally! Back on Friday for another. Update on how yours goes!

I had an early scan when I thought I was 6+2 and they said I was 5+ weeks, they saw a yolk sac etc but no heartbeat. I went back 2 weeks later and saw a heartbeat and was dated at 8+1! Good luck, hope all goes well!

I had a scan at 6+3 last week and saw a lovely heartbeat Smile

You are in the time period where you might see a heartbeat or you might not. They will probably do abdominal first and then transvaginal if they need a better view. Good luck

What did you see @bellinibutterfly? X

This was mine from last week at what I thought was 7+2 but was dated as 6+5. Heartbeat clearly seen. Only a small bit of the photo is the baby, the circle is the yolk sac. All done externally.
