Hey.. so I’ve never suffered from nose bleeds ! I’ve had 2 in the last couple days along with head aches.. this one I just had was quite intense! I’m 29 weeks pregnant. It is saying online it’s normal but can’t always trust google.. has anyone else had this ?

I got them very early in pregnancy. I can't remember ever having one before these. I was told it was normal

It’s because of the extra blood you’re carrying. My nose was often bloody during pregnancy - not streaming blood particularly but if it was runny and I wiped it it was always blood.

My friend’s nosebleed in her early 3rd pregnancy was how she realised she was pregnant.

I have had them A LOT in pregnancy (never had them before in adulthood, and even in childhood it was only if I got a bang to the nose!). I started getting them weekly at week 8, then more than weekly from week 16 to date (week 27). I've had weeks where I've had one every day. I've had 2 in the last 24 hours! I'm not worried about them, they seem to be fairly common and although most don't get them, most do get some nasal symptoms (blocked nose, more sensitive blood vessels, snoring etc)... For me the main worry is the potential embarrassment!

I had them loads in the second trimester, numerous nosebleeds a day as well as migraines. It is totally normal, there is a lot of extra blood going around your body which puts extra pressure on your sinuses and can come out of your nose. There isn't much you can do to be honest xx

Smurfybubbles · 08/04/2018 18:55

I've had them quite a bit and for about 2 weeks pretty much every morning!
It's completely normal we have a lot of extra blood in our bodies while pregnant! I think our blood volume peaks somewhere towards 32 weeks and I have only had one since then (37 weeks now)!
Not to scare you but I also coughed up blood a few times from laughing too hard but it stopped after a few minutes and wasn't painful! My midwife told me it was nothing to worry about unless the bleeding didn't stop.

TERFousBreakdown · 08/04/2018 18:59

Definitely normal.

I started getting recurrent nosebleeds after turning 30, and the first assumption my doctor made was that I must be pregnant because apparently it's so very widespread (I wasn't - and I still don't know why I get the nosebleeds, but they seem harmless enough).

I had my first nosebleed since the age of 5 in early pregnancy - in the bath - I didn't realise where the blood was coming from st first and gave myself quite a fright!

I had a few throughout, less frequent as I progressed I think.

My gums bled a bit as well.

ForeverHopeful21 · 08/04/2018 19:19

I've had quite a few throughout my pregnancy and never suffered them before. Completely normal.

CoodleMoodle · 08/04/2018 20:42

Yep, had a lot of nosebleeds this time around, and I had a lot with DD as well. Always proper nosebleeds as well, bright red blood. They definitely got less and less as the due date approached, but still happened.

Okay.. thank you guys ! Just scared me.. never had one before and then there was just so much blood and I was alone which didn’t help.. you have all reassured me though ! Thank you again x
