Will my legs go back to normal?

I've had varicose and spider veins on my legs since I was a teenager. However, they've gotten much worse during pregnancy, especially the spider veins which are closer to purple than red in the evenings.
Midwife seems unconcerned when I mention them at every appointment.
Will they go back as they were after the baby pops or are they likely to stay as bad as they are now?

Also, are my boobs saggy for life now?

If you already had problems then probably not!

Varicose veins will not go away but the pain/ache will lessen.
Spider veins will not look so angry and purple, but will calm down.
I had exactly the same probs. It's horrible, I'm sorry you have to suffer them.

I know they won't go back to how they were when I was 16, but I was hoping that they'd be less angry looking. I'm glad to hear the spider veins will calm down again, thanks.
Thankfully they aren't sore. Yet. I'm 31 weeks - do you think they'll get achy before the end?

They are shit, I'm always a bit paranoid about them. Bulgy varicose veins in my thighs and now around my knees, and terrible varicose veins on my calves and feet that make people ask if I've got a rash. It was particularly fun when a doctor told me the spider veins couldn't be a vein problem and was just dry skin because I was too young for varicose veins. After I told him I'd had varicose veins for at least 5 years at that stage. Hmm

If it's mainly spider veins then you can get them treated quite easily.

My varicose vein popped back in after I gave birth and popped back out 8 weeks into my second pregnancy. I'm wondering whether it will go back in this time!

I’m 5 weeks post birth, I had a terrible one on my calf and thigh with some vulva ones too! They have all gone down significantly! I’d wear a skirt now (if any fitted!) with a bit of fake tan.... in pregnancy my legs we’re horrendous!
I wore compression tights the whole point pregnancy to prevent worsening. Expensive but made me feel better!

My varicose veins went after my first and although they’re still just there after my second they’re hardly visible a year on.

Thirtyrock39 · 08/04/2018 10:39

I didn't get varicose veins till my third pregnancy they're still there years later unfortunately but less obvious than they were when I was pregnant

AnnieWaits · 08/04/2018 10:56

The appearance will improve but they will always be a bit worse than before. Sorry. I’m currently saving up for treatment of a particularly unsightly varicose vein in my lower leg.
