Anyone else had a subchorionic haematoma?

I had a scan on Tuesday which confirmed baby in the right place, measuring 6+1 with a strong heartbeat.

Fast forward 4 days and this morning I had a (tmi, apologies) massive bleed in the shower with no warning whatsoever. It was horrific, with huge clots and I was 100% certain it was all over - this would be my 10th miscarriage.

I managed to find a private scanning unit (EPU at hospital not open at the weekend) who scanned me this afternoon and baby is still going strong, now measuring 6+4. Sonographer said I had a subchorionic haematoma which she said was not to worry about. However....Dr Google says otherwise and now I’m panicking. Anyone else had this and have any advice?

For what it’s worth, I’m under the care of Mr Shehata due to recurrent miscarriage so am on fragmin (heparin) and various other tablets. I’ll contact him tomorrow but I’m absolutely petrified this evening that I’m going to have another bleed and this time it will take the baby with it.

I had one around 8 weeks, like you I assumed the worst given my history.
In less than 5 minutes I bled through liner, knickers, thick cord skirt and onto work chair.
Was convinced scan a day later would be bad news but there was a little heart beat. I'm now 32 weeks 😍

I had one with my first pregnancy. Big bright red bleed at around 13 weeks. He's now a cheeky, opinionated, lively
5yo. Best wishes OP.

Yes I had this with my twins, a big gush and then more later. I was around 10 weeks and convinced I was about to miscarry. Had brown blood for some weeks after too. Twins are 10 now. Hope it all works out for you.

Yes I had one. Big bleeds at 9 and 11 weeks. Convinced I'd miscarried but it was twins as well and both babies were fine. Currently 32 weeks and haven't had any bleeding since around 15 weeks.

It was awful, the stress of waiting to see if you'd bleed anymore.

The advice from the hospital was no sex until you've been bleed free for two weeks. They said to rest as much as I could, so no strenuous activity at all, no walking up more than a flight of stairs, no heavy lifting. And if I'd bled anymore would have put me on bed rest.

Reading around I'm not sure this actually makes any difference. My bleeds happened when I'd been sitting in a car for an hour and sitting on the tube for 15 minutes, so not exactly exertion. But obviously I followed their advice and only had a few more minor bleeds that could just as easily be an irritated cervix as anything to do with my haemotoma.

The haematoma was very large at 11 weeks almost as big as the babies sacs but by 16 weeks it was all gone.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, it’s really reassuring to read that you all had happy outcomes. I’ve had to step away from the internet until now as my obsessive googling wasn’t helping...

I have a 1.5hr commute (drive) so I’m trying to work out whether I should go to work or not tomorrow - I wouldn’t usually take time of work for anything but I’m so scared of something happening. This is my 10th pregnancy and my first natural pregnancy in 5yrs. I’m an anxious mess!

Thank you again, it’s really appreciated.

I just told work I'd been to the Gynae Ward and told to rest so would be working from home. Didn't even tell them I was pregnant!

I had them with both pregnancies at about the same stage you are now and all was ok. Good luck to you and I hope you have a happy ending
