like early labour feeling - horribly transported back to the memories of the last 3 labours! Is it normal for then to actually not just feel uncomfortable but to feel painful too, do you think?

You should contact your midwife/ hospital.

They shouldn't feel particularly painful. It may not be premature labour, but you need to get it checked out.

Were your other babies early?

dontwanttogetoutofbed · 11/05/2007 10:12

not an expert but they are not supposed to be.
my first pg had bhicks all day every day, never painful.
second time also had them, but not as frequently, still not painful.
you should defiantely go get it checked

get this checked - best wishes xxx

Do get it checked. I had what I thought was painful BH at 29 weeks with DS1. Turned out to be suspected early labour. They managed to stop it with medication but he still was born early at 35 weeks.

Good luck xx

The others were all late. I'm wondering if it's because I'm v. busy with the others and v.v. tired. also, I'm having these intermittent small leaks fo something (sorry if TMI) esp. at the end of busy days when I've been on my feet alot. I'm pretty sure it's not urine cos I can still make an emergency dash to the loo. I feellike a bit of a muppet making a fuss. Also babyis breech and wondering if it's trying to turn hence the discomfort??

cupcake - please don't worry about making a fuss. I was catergorially told that BH should not be painful, and you have experience of what early labour feels like...
What does the leakage smell like? If its anything like semen (sorry if TMI too!) then its likely to be amniotic fluid.
Please get yourself checked x

Sorry to hijack cupcakes but I am also pregnant with my 4th and am 33 weeks. Last night had braxton hicks from hell one after another for over an hour. They were not regular but they were enough to have me gripping very tightly to my husbands hand. Had a very uncomfortable night. I feel absolutely fine today and baby is happily kicking away but I will get my self checked out. Hope all goes well for you cup.

Thanks everyone. You'd think by the 4th you'd be used to this pregnancy lark, but apparently not! Will give my m/w a call I think to put my mind at rest.
