Would love to hear from anyone who is planning on going to the Babyshow this weekend. I'm still undecided.

I need to buy loads of stuff for this baby, well everything basically!

Would it be worth going because of discounts? Are the discounts any good?

Hi
I went to the baby show in London and it was well worth it. There are loads of discounts, bargains and freebies! Plus everything is all in one place! I would recommend it!

Hi Princess, thanks for replying. I'm a bit confused about the website, when you click on discounts and go through all the pages, one comes up that suggests you get 10% off if you spend over £100. But doesn't say which companies this applies to. I was wondering if it was anything you bought.

I'll be back in a minute, I'm gonna look for the link.

Dont' take older children. They won't enjoy it. I love it though.

BabyMadwithBump · 11/05/2007 10:04

I would say so, every time I've been I've really enjoyed myself and I bring back loads of samples and freebies plus money off loads of stuff! I cant wait I'm going either tomorrow or Sunday!

Sunyshineymummy · 11/05/2007 10:05

The one in London is fabulous. I've saved about £150 both times I've been.

I would love to go but i dont want to tempt fate by going on the weekend before my scan.......

Hopeitwontbebig · 11/05/2007 10:26

What they've said is that it 'looks' like that webpage on their website means that you get 10% off anything you buy over £100, and if they refuse then it's false advertising!

I went a few years ago to the Birmingham show and it was dire.

So, so busy, not enough seats to sit down for lunch (unbearable if you are trying to feed baby).

I couldn't wait to get out of the place and didn't buy a thing.

PedroPony · 11/05/2007 10:33

its shite

dont go

Hopeitwontbebig · 11/05/2007 10:33

Would going on Monday be quieter do you think. I won't bring the kids.

OP posts:
Hopeitwontbebig · 11/05/2007 10:34

So is it not worth going to buy pram etc?

OP posts:
emmatomATO · 11/05/2007 10:36

Obviously better if you are on your own and a Monday would probably be a little less manic, but personally the hassle involved just 'aint worth it when you can get a perfectly good pram from loads of other places that arn't teeming with pions and don't charge you £4 just for the privilege of parking, let along the entrance fee.

Hopeitwontbebig · 11/05/2007 10:41

Hmmm, will have to have a good think!

A couple of years ago I went with my 6 yo DS. He seemed really pleased to be going. A couple of minutes after we arrived he seemed quite upset. It turned out he thought the baby show would be like a dog show with babies doing tricks!

Sunyshineymummy · 11/05/2007 11:31

I got a free car seat with my first pram before DS was borh (worth £100) and I got a car seat and pram worth £350 for £125 second time I went. I got money off a lot of other things as well. Go early as it does get busy but it's definitely worth it.

Hopeitwontbebig · 13/05/2007 11:49

Thought I'd just update you all.. I bit the bullet yesterday and went, taking my 10 year old son, and very wisely leaving DH and 7 yr old at home!!

Well I had a bit of a result really! I got the pram I wanted £15 off, the car sear I wanted £15 off, steriliser, breast pump, bottle warmer, saving about £20 and lots of other bits too, like blankets clothes etc.

All in all it was worth it. But OMG the crowds, and people pushing prams into you, and stopping right in front of you , my DH wouldn't have lasted 30 minutes
