Hi all

As the title says I’m 16 weeks and still can’t feel any movement 😔 I’m plus size so would this effect it?

Feeling slightly panicked. Have midwife Thursday so longing to hear a heartbeat

Is this your first?
I didn’t feel anything until around 18 weeks I think with ds.

QueenAravisOfArchenland · 07/04/2018 13:09

Practically no FTMs would feel any movement by 16 weeks. The chances of anything being wrong are tiny. Please try and relax.

Nothisispatrick · 07/04/2018 13:09

It's normal not to feel anything at 16 weeks

BigGreenOlives · 07/04/2018 13:09

Think that is early, didn’t feel any of mine until later than then, more like 20 weeks.

Nogodsnomasters · 07/04/2018 13:09

I didn't feel anything til about 17-18 weeks with my ds (first and only) and I'm quite slim so try not to worry.

OrangeHorses · 07/04/2018 13:09

16 weeks was when I first started to feel my first baby.

Iwant2move · 07/04/2018 13:11

I didn't feel anything until twenty weeks with my first and eighteen weeks with subsequent pregnancies.

letsdolunch321 · 07/04/2018 13:11

I felt my first at 18/19 weeks.

Hope all goes well with the midwife

TheDisreputableDog · 07/04/2018 13:32

I didn't feel anything until 23 wks, if you have an anterior placenta movements are cushioned.

Dobbythesockelf · 07/04/2018 13:34

With my first I didn't feel anything till around 19 weeks. Even with my current pregnancy at 16 weeks I had to really concentrate to feel anything. The position of the placenta has an impact. I wouldn't worry at all.

Sals27 · 07/04/2018 13:37

I'm 17 weeks and a size 10, no movements felt here either Smile Im impatient to start feeling it!

ruleshelpcontrolthefun · 07/04/2018 13:40

I was 19w with DC1 and 17w with DC2. Both were/are perfectly healthy.

DownWithThisSortaThing · 07/04/2018 13:40

I am a size 6 and felt nothing until about 22 weeks .. then all of a sudden it was big strong kicks! But nothing before that. Try not to worry OP Flowers

Yika · 07/04/2018 13:42

I felt first movement around 18 weeks I think.

Namechangemum100 · 07/04/2018 13:43

Didn't feel anything until around 18 weeks with my first and 22 weeks with my second (although I have an anterior placenta this time)

Bluebirdsky · 07/04/2018 14:21

16 weeks is quite early I would say. I was a good 21 weeks before I felt definite movements; I am overweight too and a dress size 18 so not sure if that affected it.

DramaAlpaca · 07/04/2018 14:27

16 weeks is early with a first baby. I was more like 18 weeks with mine.

ThorsMistress · 07/04/2018 14:29

Thank you all. Should of mentioned this is DC2.

I didn’t worry this much with DS. Pregnancy isn’t relaxing at all!

I starting feeling something at 17 weeks but I think that's pretty early

Lubyloo · 07/04/2018 14:37

It's normal, try not to worry! I felt my first at 23 weeks and my second at 22 weeks.

FranticallyPeaceful · 07/04/2018 14:43

23 weeks this time (third baby)

LeighaJ · 07/04/2018 16:13

I think being overweight or obese only affects other people being able to feel the baby's movements, rather than the pregnant woman herself.

16 to 25 weeks is the timeframe for baby's first movement with a second pregnancy that my research found. It did note that some may feel it before 16 weeks, but that sounds like a minority.
