33+2 weeks, ridge at top of uterus/belly/bump

Noticed this a few weeks ago. Presents as a sort of horizontal line or dip across the top of my bump (a few inches above belly button). Anyone else have this, or know what it is/means? Next appointment is next week. Will bring it up then.

Would you be willing to take a picture of the ridge? It's hard for me to say if it's normal off of description alone.

I will say that I sometimes have had an odd shape or area of my belly and it seems to always be down to the position of the baby. My belly looked particularly weird when she was in a transverse position, she got kind of stuck there for about a week while going from breech to head-down position.

Does it feel curved? It's possibly the top of your uterus.
If it's a dip in the bump it might be the way the baby is lying

@LeighaJ Unfortunately, I don't have a working phone so won't be able to take a picture of it :( It's definitely been this ay for a while now... Could be positional I guess, yes.

@Anotherdayanotherdollar I don't think it is the top of my uterus because my uterus definitely ended after the ridge (higher up than the ridge) before the ridge made an appearance. I guess it looks like a kind of 'B' shape form the side. But, yes, it's a dip in the bump!

It is probably down to the baby's position as long as you aren't having other issues like slowed or no baby movement, severe cramping, or spotting then I'd say it's nothing to be worried about.

Just part of the magical weirdness of pregnancy, like when mine moves around in a way that makes me think I'm about to have my own Aliens movie moment.

Would be interested to know what the midwife makes of it though once you see her.

I often had a ridge across the top of bump at lower rib height with ds and have it again with second pregnancy at third trimester. I figured it is either a limb or bits of me squishing out around the baby. Which is grim, but nothing wrong. Bumps just come in different shapes.

Often you get a bit of a dip around the belly button if baby is lying in certain positions. Where do you get most of your kicks?
