Midwife and Drs mistakes

This is just a rant really. I'm 28 weeks pregnant, had a midwife appointment on Tuesday. They took a urine sample and some blood samples. They sent the urine sample off as there was trace proteins in it. Obviously the blood samples got sent off.
Yesterday I had a phone call from my gp saying that there had been a mistake with the blood tests and could I go get them done again asap as I am having my anti d injection this weekend. So I drag myself and my 3 year old to the Drs this am on the bus, cause I don't have a car as my dh needed it for work. Blood test repeated. Set off back home. Got home to another phone call from the Dr saying that there had also been a mix up with my urine sample so I need to give another one by Tuesday but I need to pick up a form this afternoon.
I can't face making another trip to the GP's this afternoon I'm animic and have pgp/spd and I just don't have the energy to do it so I need to see if my husband can make it before the Drs close this evening. I'm at the hospital tomorrow morning for my anti d injection, I have the gtt test on Thursday and I'm waiting for a physio referral so I'm constantly uncomfortable/in pain.
I wouldn't mind but it turns out I need to do all these repeats cause my midwife didn't fill out a form correctly with my details so they refused to run the tests at the hospital.

You can contact the head of practice and put a complaint in and explain the situation - probably find someone hand delivering the request in person.

The doctor sounds like he isn't getting info or he's not checking - midwife i would check out as do you want her/him forgetting about important paperwork during birth etc?

First time issues yeah they can happen, 2nd and 3rd = careless.

Ugh! That's infuriating. I know everyone makes mistakes, but it does get annoying when you have to deal with the fallout. Mine wasn't that bad - had the bloods done at the hospital with the GTT so no room for error- but she did manage to forget one of my appointments so I ended up leaving work early and traipsing to the doctors for the time she'd written on my notes only to find out that she'd double booked me and couldn't see me for another week. Really irritating.

If you are at the hospital tomorrow morning why don't you explain what has happened to the midwife and ask for a form and repeat the urine test whilst you are there. Saves you another trip to the GP this afternoon.

Thanks I will try asking at the hospital tomorrow. I'm way too tired to make another bus trip there and back and I think my 3 year old would revolt.
