Just curious really...

Those who are carrying twins, did you guess before your scan?

We're there any tell tale signs that made you guess?

Or symptoms that after finding out made sense?

My first and only pregnancy, so I don't know if my symptoms were any worse than normal. I was showing quite early, someone guessed 10 weeks, so that should have been a clue. I was totally shocked at my first scan.

LelouchviBritanniacommandsyou · 06/04/2018 10:56

One of my colleagues started showing early in her second pregnancy and her husband insisted it was twins. She dismissed it, putting it down to looser ab muscles etc. Lo and behold at the 12 week scan she found out there were indeed two babies!

I'm looking forward to hearing the result Grin

ClareB83 · 06/04/2018 11:35

Interesting @namechangedtoday15 I had bleeds at 9 and 11 weeks and it's my first pregnancy. Thought we'd miscarried but nope there were two wriggly little boys in there waving at us!

Dauphinois · 06/04/2018 12:55

Nothing out of the ordinary and it was my third pregnancy.

I was utterly gobsmacked when we saw two at the scan.

EL332 · 06/04/2018 20:38

I promise to come back and let you all know!

Today at 7 weeks I've been hit with a big head cold the worst backache and really achey hips too! 😫

I feel like I'm being a big wuss but I'm feeling very sorry for myself....

Hope you're feeling better op!

Also, I forgot to say, congratulations! Flowers

I know 10 friends who have had twins - all but three of them knew by about week 6/7 because of the severe tiredness and nausea

RebeccaCloud9 · 07/04/2018 04:49

I was so so super tired in both of my pregnancies, and felt even worse on my second. And so ill. And so bloated! Was really thinking it was twins. It wasn't. Just normal pregnancy symptoms that just carried on for the whole pregnancies. (Hate being pregnant can you tell?! But it's worth it now).

TwiceAsNice22 · 07/04/2018 06:12

I didn’t know I was having twins, but I thought something was wrong. I had very bad headaches (I don’t normally get headaches at all), I had a horrible metallic taste in my mouth, I felt very nauseous and my stomach felt really funny. I ended up booking a private ultrasound at 6 weeks. It was a very nice surprise finding out nothing was wrong and that I was having twins Smile

PrettyWisdomous · 12/04/2018 16:25

When is your scan, EL332? I'm excited to find out if your instincts were right.

EL332 · 12/04/2018 19:32

@PrettyWisdomous it's on Saturday! 🙂 I promise I'll update!

EL332 · 14/04/2018 13:20

I have one healthy wriggly baby! No sign of twins, just one sickly tired Mumma!

Congrats @EL332!

PrettyWisdomous · 15/04/2018 14:01

That's great news, congratulations!!

TheEagle · 15/04/2018 15:23

Congratulations!

moofolk · 15/04/2018 15:27

As a parent of twins (who I love dearly of course), please breathe a huge sigh of relief that there's only one in there.

I had twins less than two years after my first and although I wouldn't change it for the world now, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

namechangedtoday15 · 15/04/2018 18:19

That's a really negative post moofolk. I'm sorry you found it hard but think there are times when you don't have to be quite so blunt or honest, when people who suspect they might be expecting twins will be reading this thread. By all means, say it's bloody tough sometimes, but wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy?! Confused

Potplant · 15/04/2018 19:04

I agree with Moofolk. If I'd had a choice I would have had mine one at a time. Not that I don't love every inch of the them of course.

Congratulations OP hope the sickness passes soon. I've never felt so unwell as when I was pregnant, I certainly didn't bloom!

Pattylogic · 15/04/2018 19:16

Great news, congratulations! Have a happy and healthy pregnancy 😊.

MrsG95 · 15/04/2018 22:00

wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy
Bit insensitive to people thinking they might be carrying twins. I wish I never lost my son's twin..

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 15/04/2018 22:03

I have 6 year olD DTDs and the morning sickness and tiredness was horrendous

MrsG95 · 15/04/2018 22:05

Congrats tho OP Flowers
