Pre scan Jitters...

Hello everyone I'm 11 +1 and have my 12 week scan on Monday 9th April, I am so so nervous. I just want them to say there is a heartbeat and everything is fine. My life is pretty normal, i've had no bleeding or tummy pains. Just need some reassurance! Any other new mums worried? Why am I such a worrier! Thanks x

I'm worried they will say no heartbeat. I shouldnt scare myself when i read other peoples post! Someone help x

I also have my 12 week scan on Monday (though I'll be 13 weeks) and feel exactly the same. I can't believe how long I have been wanting this moment but now it's close I'm almost dreading it in case it's bad news. Unfortunately there's no avoiding it but the odds really are in our favour for good news!

I felt this for every single scan we had - was never a problem and I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant expecting a baby girl any day! I think it's natural to worry. In my experience the people doing the scan always point out heartbeat straight away so you can relax within a few mins of lying down. Good luck :)

I was so scared before mine! The relief when I saw the baby shape was completely overwhelming. Good luck OP, the high likelihood is that everything is fine.

I thought I was 13+1 at my scan, turns out I was 11+5. Although I'm not convinced that won't change again at the next scan.

I know how you feel. Im 11+3 and my 12 week scan isn't until 19th April which is really frustrating as I'll be 13+3 by then. I had an early scan due to bleeding at 7+4 and everything was good but I just cant help but feel that there's nothing there now! I keep trying to rationalise that I wouldnt be feeling so crap and spewing all the time if baby had died. Plus i caved today and took a test (i know, i know) and it was a very strong line still. I guess unless you're at, or have been at, this stage you just cant understand the feeling of dread! Good luck with your scans x

Had my scan turns out i'm 12+5! Very healthy little baby in my tummy! So happy. I would advise all new mums to get a handheld doppler i got one and can hear the babys heartbeat perfectly. Xx
