Workwear

I don't want to go mad as I'm due at the start of September and hoping to use up my annual leave before hand so looking to leave at the end of July. However I do work in a reasonably corporate environment and at 18 weeks am sporting a bump that means my normal workwear isn't exactly comfortable anymore

Where is good to pick up a few dresses for not a lot?

Thanks

Ebay!

I bought loads and they were hardly worn. I sold them again... silly! Pregnant now and look every day. There are bargains to be had if you don't mind "pre-loved".

Deffo eBay or charity shops? X

I bought one maternity dress and one pair of extremely expensive trousers from a specialist maternity wear shop (the dress was Seraphina. Can't remember about the trousers) and a black pencil skirt from JoJoMaman bebe. And I had a long cardigan thing which worked well. I basically wore those, in rotation, for the duration. I had one or two cheap pregnancy tops and I bought a couple of normal tops in a size up from places like White Company (all flowy and forgiving).

My point is that in a corporate environment i think it's better to have a few really good bits you can mix and match than to buy lots of different items.

I bought 2/3 dresses from Seraphina (but only in the sale as otherwise too expensive!) and wore them constantly.

missingdiamond · 05/04/2018 16:12

Most of my eBay finds are seraphina. Perfect for work in this weather.

It's Séraphine (not seraphina- will help with your eBay search!). I went to the shop in London and tried on a few for sizing then bought loads on eBay as pps have suggested. Isabella Oliver
is the other one to look out for.

Yes, on my phone and it wouldn't let me write it!

I bought some Isabella Oliver dresses from eBay and almost cried when they arrived because I finally had some workwear that fitted properly and felt good quality. I’d definitely recommend eBay!

I got a couple of black jersey dresses from debenhams that were pretty good. Jojo, Seraphine and Isabella Oliver are good too although IO is a bit more pricy.

Almostthere15 · 05/04/2018 23:08

Jojo do a good shift dress, I think it's 39 pound.

The rest I've picked up on eBay- a good seraphine jacket that had only been worn once and a couple of dresses, the bodycon ones look smart with a jacket and I've managed to get a couple for less than 20 each but they are hotly contested!

H and m usually have a good pair of trousers and alongside some maternity shirts that'll keep you going.
