Exactly that really....How much did you have?

I'm currently TTC and drink about 4/5 cups a day at work (weekdays) and maybe 1-2 a day at weekends

Recommend decaf PG tips - just tastes like the real thing! Then leaves room for the cheeky coke every now and again. Having said that I'm 38 weeks and only in last 3 weeks or so started drinking tea again. Oh the joy! Grin

That book sounds really interesting - I wish I had read it!

I also worried about the caffeine thing when pregnant because I was accustomed to drinking a large quantity of strong coffee every day. In the end I decided that one medium white americano in the morning was fine so I had that throughout my pregnancy. No ill effects and I'd have been miserable without it tbh,

I really can't imagine a cup or two of tea is anything to worry about (!?) but I do understand wanting to be cautious.

I think current NHS guidance is about 200mg of caffeine a day, right? Although a few years ago it was 300mg. The evidence base is not good so it's all just being super cautious really. They say this is about the equivalent of two instant coffees a day but I drink weak coffee so I'm sure my coffees would be much less than 100mg - a small latte at Costa only has about 90mg of caffeine in it after all and when I make one at home it's definitely weaker than that. I don't worry too much about it. I have a cup of tea every morning, and then some days I might have a small Costa latte and or another cup of tea or instant coffee in the afternoon if I'm feeling very sleepy at work. I drink more cups of tea on the weekends but I tend to drink decaf, also drink decaf coffee sometimes. I use Ringtons decaf tea, think it's ace, and Kenco decaf instant coffee.
