Sleepyhead?

Really can't decide whether to buy a Sleepyhead ahead of DD2's arrival in July. DD1 was & still is a bad sleeper so as you can imagine we're worried we're going to have another bad sleeper on our hands so I want to be semi prepared. Not necessarily saying the Sleepyhead would work but people have raved about them to me. However, they are a lot of money & I keep thinking are they really worth it?! Or should I wait until she's here to see if we actually need one or not.
What does everyone else think about them?

We had one for DS1 and will be using it for DS2 when he is born.

However we used it in December and DS1 was so sweaty in it. He only wore a babygrow (no vest) and a thin blanket over the top of the sleepyhead. So in July, unless you have a cool house you might find your little one gets too warm in it?

It was helpful, good to transport baby from downstairs to upstairs without waking him. I don't think it was a miracle buy. Some people say it made their child sleep through the night from day one. That wasn't the case with us.

It was an expensive buy. I'm not sure I would buy it again if I didn't have one.

Have a look at the lullaby trust guidance on safe sleeping. It might help with your decision.

We bought it in desperation about six weeks in. Only used it for naps and when baby was sleeping with us so never when they moved into their own room. Will definitely use again if we have another, really helped for us.

I'd wait and see whether you actually have a sleep problem before parting with that much money.
