Hello i had a GTT on friday and at the midwife on tuesday i was told my result was borderline and today i got a letter saying i have a scan booked for monday and an appointment afterwards.Does anyone know what will happen?My midwife said not to worry but she didnt explain anything.any help would be great.

If you have a borderline gtt it may be that your baby will be on the big side. That is probably why they are doing the scan. The gtt is to test if you have gestational diabetes, which can cause big babies and sometimes needs treating. They will probably just monitor you a bit more closely which can only be a good thing!

If you do have gest diabetes they will probably refer you to a dietician - it can be controlled by diet usually. Mine was negative - but was dreading the thought of giving up chocolate It also depends why they gave you the test. I am a big baby kind of gal
