Im pregnant with my first and I'm over the moon. I am struggling with the changes to my body though. I'm 14 weeks and ive already had to start wearing maternity clothes because everything else was too uncomfortable. I'm usually a size 10 to 12 but with a huge appetite so previously kept my weight in check with intermittent fasting...which I obviously can't do now. I was very lucky and had no sickness, just constant hunger! So I've already put a stone on and I'm feeling huge. My mum was huge with me so i know I'm going to get enormous. I'm just worried about gaining too much weight. I don't want to be unhealthy. I have roughly started counting calories aiming for 2000 and started following some slimming world principles to keep things in check. Are there any other tips for a greedy mum to be who also doesn't want to get too fat?! Thanks!

I'm 11 weeks and have put on a stone 😔 I used to to do the 5:2 but the other way round so it's my own fault.

I'm now tracking what I eat and using an exercise bike in the evenings. I piled the weight with my others but used it as an excuse to eat!

I'm going with eating healthily and exercising...

I'm sure the midwives will let you know if you are gaining too much weight. Also everyone carries their pregnancy differently, if you're going to get fat (even if it's just from water retention) I don't think there is much you can do about it. I would just concentrate on enjoying the pregnancy journey as much as you can.

Thanks fir the replies. I really am enjoying my pregnancy so far, I've been very lucky. I just thought I would have more willpower than I do! I've been tucking into lots of fat free cottage cheese and fromage frais like the world is ending to try and fill myself up!! Are there any other healthy filling snacks you can recommend?!

Also it's not bump weight so much as whole body getting bigger! 🙈

I’m the same. I’m nearly 11 weeks and I’m worried about putting too much weight on too. I was already over weight before getting pregnant and my clothes are already getting tighter. I was thinking of roughly calorie counting too.
Sounds like you’re doing everything right really, it’s so difficult!
Are you managing to exercise at all? I’m feeling so awful at the moment it’s th last thing I feel able to do, but hopefully once I’m feeling better I might be able to start swimming.

Im tying to exercise I've been swimming a few times and brisk walks. I think the my fitnesspal app is really helpful to keep track of calories
