Missed miscarriage

We went for an early scan on Sat. Sonographer said I was measuring at 6 weeks 5 days. Sac and fetal pole could be seen but no heartbeat. Said I was measuring at 7mm. We have a rescan on Friday and if still no heartbeat and no growth the want to do a d&c. Does anyone have a similar experience, whether ended in a positive or negative result? X

I first saw the HB last pregnancy at 5+6 then again at 7+1 so they should really be able to see a HB at 6+5... although I do hope I am wrong, for your sake. I had two MMC last year.

I'm on baby 5 now, and have had early scans with all of them due to bleeding.

Not once have I seen a heartbeat before 7 weeks, but they were external scans.

Was yours internal or external? X

I would just ride it out till the next app, I know it isn't uncommon to not see the heartbeat that early.

I don't want to fill you with false hope, but equally I wouldn't be jumping to the conclusion that it's a MMC.

My fingers will be crossed for you x

How far along should you be?

It's so hard to see a heartbeat at that gestation. It's the tiniest flicker. It took the sonographer ages to find my babies at 6+5. We were measuring a week behind but at the 12 week scan, put me a week ahead so it's possible that it will turn out ok. Don't lose hope yet but also be prepared. Hope you're ok.

Good luck with your rescan @sammallaburn. It's nerve-wracking. I'm going in to my rescan tomorrow and I'm so so nervous. I don't think it's going to be good, I had a scan last Wednesday, they could see a gestational sac but nothing else and I was measuring behind my 7 weeks by about two weeks. It doesn't add up as I am spot on with dates with my tracking and ov packs. I'm preparing for the worst, even though it's hard not to have a little bit of hope. I had a MMC in January so this is another tough blow.

Really hope you get good news. At 6 -7 weeks it's easy to be out by a couple of days which can have a massive impact on seeing a heartbeat so keep your chin up.

Unfortunately the scan turned out as I expected but hoped wouldn't be the case. Not much progress since last week in terms of growth of the sac, she found the fetal pole but no hb so a mmc was diagnosed. I'm booked in next week for a d&c. Very heartbroken today.

Best of luck @SamMaallaburn, I genuinely hope your news will be good. We need all the positive stories we can get to give people like me hope. x
