Breastfeeding supplies

We've experimented with a few layouts to have our twins (expected in May) in with us for the first six months.

The best we've come up with means I don't have a bedside table. I know I'm going to need stuff while I'm breastfeeding so was thinking of hanging a shopping bag off the bedpost with supplies in it.

I was thinking: a bottle of water with a sports cap, some snacks, nipple cream, lip gloss, a couple of muslins, my phone and the remote (for if DH has abandoned us to the other room for some sleep).

Does that sound about right? Bearing in mind I won't have a spare hand most of the time as there are two (I will have a twin breastfeeding pillow).

Also any suggestions of good for me/them/middle of the night snacks?

I had to give up my bedside table for 6 months when DC1 was next to me in the Snuzpod. I kept a basket underneath it that had:

Lansinoh
Bottle of water
Couple of spare breast pads
Couple of muslins
Headphones (in case I ended up listening/watching something on my phone)
Pack of wipes
Nappies (I always changed DC1 after a feed and just did it on the bed, rather than getting up and going to his changing table)
Hair tie/hair band (always wanted to scrape my hair back)
Infacol

I also had a small reading light which I clipped on to the headboard - no bedside table meant no bedside light and to be honest, at the beginning I just wanted to be able to see he was latched on properly and I didn't want a 'big' light on.

I had to get ris of my bedside table too. I ended up with a change bag next to the bed. I had nappies wipes breast pads nipple cream muslin cloth headphones my phone and a bottle of water. I always had a hait clip on my headboard because my hair was so thick it annoyed me. Also kept face wipes there too.

Thanks ladies: some good extras to add to my bag there. 😁

I also had to live without a bedside table when I used a Bednest. The thing I missed the most was a bedside lamp. If you don’t already have wall-mounted bedside lamps then consider one of those inexpensive battery-operated lights which can stick on the wall.

One of those secure bodum mugs for warm milky drinks too.

Ooo I’ve ordered a next2me and hasn’t thought about the fact I’ll have to lose my bedside table. Otherwise the crib will be halfway down the bed and I won’t be able to get in and out, doh!!
