Looking for advice,

At my last two midwife appointments there has been glucose in my urine. The last test being Thursday last week. I am currently 35 weeks. Midwife was concerned and scheduled me to have fasted bloods taken this morning by the community midwife (as the doctors would be closed for the bank holiday).

I fasted from 2130 last night and I am still waiting for the midwife. I'm starving. To top it off I have had bad morning sickness throughout this pregnancy and my way of getting through it is usually having breakfast so as well as being hungry I've been sick.

The only way to get in touch with the midwife is by leaving a voicemail which I have done but no response as yet. Not sure whether to ring triage, keep waiting or just eat.

I hope you ate something!
It’s ridiculous to ask you to have a fasted test and then keep you hanging around until lunchtime without eating! You could have gone into the hospital and had it done in the day unit or waited until tomorrow! Or they could have just asserted you on regular blood sugar monitoring.

Hope you’re feeling better now OP!
