Hi im 15weeks as of yesterday i know the baby is still tiny i havent felt movements like others yet. But i cant sleep at night i sleep on my sides but last night it felt like i suddenly had a baby in me as i couldn't get comfortable on my right and still today it feels as if the baby is weighing more on the left side is that possible? Almost like without me feeling it the babys moved to the left. I've ordered a pillow now but i just felt like i was crushing him or her at every turn last night. Ive only got a very small bump not showing through my clothes yet so find it hard to believe it can be getting in my way when i sleep.

Hi molly I am 13 weeks with a very small bump. I do find it a bit uncomfortable to get to sleep in certain positions although usually once I’m asleep it doesn’t disturb me. I can’t say I’ve really felt any movements yet either. I guess it’s probably too early for that unfortunately.

Hi ladies and congratulations! I’m having similar experiences at 14 weeks.

On Wednesday night I fell asleep on my left side and must’ve moved over to the right. I was woken up by a sudden jabbing sensation so moved back onto my left side. In my mind, that was my baby telling me it wasn’t comfortable over there!

In terms of movement, I’ve felt nothing yet but my midwife said it may take up to week 18 to feel something with your first.

Do you also find yourself analysing every little thing in case it harms the baby? Even though I know it is perfectly safe and well-cushioned in there! Confused

Internal organs will be moving as the uterus grows. It gets hard to settle at night. Try a normal pillow between your legs, it can help.

I am 15 weeks today, I started being uncomfortable about 2 weeks ago. I bought a wedge and a large U shaped pillow. The wedge has been amazing. It takes a while to get comfy but once I am, it’s fine. I have always slept on my back so found it a huge struggle training myself from 8 weeks.

Unless you know what you're feeling for you won't feel movements til 16+ weeks so don't worry about that!
Baby has plenty of space to move and will do so often so its entirely possible for them to move from one side of your uterus to the other. I started using a body pillow from around 15 weeks :) don't worry about crushing them, they're well protected in their little bubble and you'll feel uncomfortable and change position (even subconsciously) well before you could possibly do any damage

I’m 18wks and know what you mean. They say you should lie on your left side to sleep as it aids digestion through the night.

I bought a dreamgenii body pillow (they sell them on amazon and Argos) they have a little pillow attached to a flap that stops you from rolling onto your back or other side in the night. I’ve found it great so far, it’s long enough that it can also go between your knees when you get bigger. It can also be used after the baby is born for feeding and cuddles.
