Iron infusions

So I'm due to go into hospital today for my 3rd infusion. So far they've been every two days.

The first cannula in my left hand was fine. The second the lady 'missed' my vein in my right hand and its very bruised. My other veins on that hand are tiny. So she put the second one back in the same vein on my left hand.

I have my third one today, and I'm worried about where they will put it! I hate/loathe/detest needles (who doesn't, I know, but I had trauma that's caused this).

Can they put it in the same vein on my left had for a third time? Or will the move on to somewhere other than my hand?

I'm also due a section in two weeks so I know I'll need a bigger needle cannula then too and I'm just bugging out!

Any advice appreciated because every time I ask at hospital they just say 'we'll have to see how we get on'....

Sorry, it’s probably a bit late now but they can put one in your arm if it’s just for a 15 minute infusion! Much easier usually!

They take just over an hour.

They ended up getting a Dr to do it as my veins are rubbish and the two midwives weren't happy doing it.

They put it in the same vein as they've used the last two times and my goodness is my hand sore now! The veins now bruised and collapsed so I'm dreading the next one Wednesday!

Sad
