Hey everyone.

I’m currently 10 weeks and constantly waking during the night needing the toilet.

I’m going at least 5 times a night.
It then takes me 20mins to an hour to fall back to sleep. I’m shattered in the morning.

Is this normal? Is anyone experiencing similar thing?

Yes! Unfortunately it has continued for me and I’m 27 weeks now. I think for a lot of people it gets better in the second trimester though :)

Do you drink many cups of tea etc before bed? I find that made it worse so stopped having any fluid a few hours before bedtime.

Oh dear, I hope mine subsides. It’s hard enough sleeping next to my partner at the moment (I just want all the space!) let alone having to keep getting up.

I do occasionally have a fizzy drink in the evening. I’ll cut this out or have it early and see if it makes any difference. I drink a lot of water too but all this has never effected my bathroom trips like being pregnant has!

This is my second pregnancy and feel like the symptoms are far worse this time.

Yes unfortunately it's normal Sad
I was like this in the first trimester, seemed to get better in the second then by the third trimester I think I spent most of the night going for a wee/struggling to get comfortable.

Hopefully it eases off soon for you!

Could be normal but also could be a UTI or even an indication of gestational diabetes - unlikely but worth checking out.

It's more likely to be the extra blood volume you've suddenly got. I found it did ease off (but I wasn't going that frequently.)

Yep same here, was bad during first trimester but has eased up now I'm into the second. I do believe its to do with the excess blood volume meaning that your kidneys are working harder and more urine is produced, they'll get used to it soon and hopefully you'll manage a decent night of sleep.

I'm 28+6 and mine's back. I go and get back into bed and shortly after need to go again. It's so annoying! That coupled with the discomfort of bump, hips, back etc is ruining my sleep.

Im 24+5 and mine is back too. I can get in bed by 10pm and then im up and down for 3 hours going to bathroom. Then i wake maybe 3 or 4 times a night. Ive resigned myself to the fact i am never going to sleep a full night again lol. Xx

I was like that until about week 18, then it came back around 30 weeks. It's been off and on though depending on the position of my baby.
