I’m 14 weeks today, I’ve had some back pain with this pregnancy so went to an osteopath on Thursday. He knew I was pregnant and was very professional, explaining that he wasn’t going to do what he’d usually do but a kind of lighter version of it. I was on my tummy for some of it as I still can lie on my tummy but as he was pushing on my lower back I swear I could feel my uterus or something hard pushing into the bed. It wasn’t painful but I was very aware of it. I’m a wimp and didn’t say stop and pretty soon he turned me on my side to do the rest of the massage etc. I’m so scared I’ve hurt/killed the baby. Like I just have this awful feeling. I could feel my uterus being squashed into the bed surely that could cause damage? I’m terrified does anyone have any similar stories/info for me? X

I think you'll be okay. I'm not an expert but they say the first trimester is the safest time to fall downstairs (or similar trauma) because baby is so safe tucked away in your uterus. You're just outside 1st trimester so I'd say you were fine!

I slept on my front until pretty late in pregnancy, early third trimester I think because my bump didn't grow outwards so I still could out of habit and my little guy is nearly 7 months now. Left is best I believe and I always went to sleep on my left but I nearly always woke up on my front.

I had chiropractic treatment in both pregnancies . They are trained to deal with it .

The baby's suspended in fluid in there. If it was that easy to damage or end a pregnancy desperate women would never have had to resort to such awful tactics to end unwanted pregnancies and we wouldn't need surgical terminations.

Your baby will be fine. Healthy pregnancies are extremely robust.

If it was that easy to harm/kill a baby in the uterus then anyone who didn't want to continue their pregnancy would be doing it. Baby is perfectly safe Thanks you're fluid filled and baby is the size of a satsuma. I'm at the end of my second pregnancy and I was lying on my stomach past 20 weeks to sleep. Enjoy it! The second trimester is far more enjoyable Star

Your baby is definitely ok, you'll hurt yourself long before baby. But it's not daft to feel that way pregnancy is a terrifying time! It gets easier once you can feel the baby regularly.

Your baby is absolutely fine :-) they are all lovely and cushioned in there I've layed on my front a few times amd also got knocked over hard at 29 weeks and everything is fine, enjoy the rest of your pregnancy :-) x

I lay on my front while doing yoga and can definitely feel my uterus at 19 weeks. Baby is suspended in amniotic fluid swimming along like Ester Williams. Harming a baby is not that easy. Oh and I also have physio on my back every month, lying on my tummy, until I get too big that is. Flowers
