Hi everyone, I'm new here so hopefully I've popped this post in the right topic! I'm getting a bit confused about what I need to buy (clothing wise) ready for our new baby. I'm 15weeks pregnant so I know I have plenty of time, but most websites suggest that I will only need 5-7 vests/sleep suits, a couple of cardigans and hats etc. That just doesn't seem like enough? I have little boxes with a few bits of first size/newborn and 0-3 months already. I'm buying most things second hand at car boot sales and charity shops so it's not a cost thing, I'm just feeling a bit insecure as a friend has said I already have too much! When I'm my opinion I have no where near enough. (We're not lazy but are a bit rubbish at keeping up with laundry!) I would like to see what other parents thoughts are. Thanks 💕

I thought the websites were crap!!

I had like
10-14 vest- short and long sleeved
15-20 sleepsuits as they live in them the first few months
A couple of hats
And a few cardis.

DePends how often you want to wash everything 😂

guest nails it, the only thing I’d add is not too much in newborn size in case you have a 9lb whopper. You can always buy more if necessary. And we had DD in a heatwave so bought some of those romper things (basically baby grows with shorts instead of the full length legs). Ignore any advice re scratch mits, those lists often mention them but they’re a massive waste of money since practically all sleepsuits have them intergrated.

Thank you, it's hard to know and it has actually been getting to me a bit as friends/family's helpful comments, when you're feeling as hormonal as me do not go down well! Xx
