Miscarriage? First pregnancy - terrified

Hello,
I am 10+5 with my first baby. We had a scan at 5 weeks,all was good I saw a heart beat baby was fine. Today a couple of hours ago I started bleeding quite a bit in my underwear and since then when I wipe and sometimes a bit on a pad also. It is sometimes bright red sometimes pinkish. We went to AnE and they have given us an appointment for a scan on Sunday and just advised us to wait it out. I am not in any particularly notable pain. But I’m beside myself with worry and can’t stop crying. I am wondering would there be more blood if I was miscarrying and would I be in pain?

Unfortunately there's no way to know until you have the scan. Some women with those symptoms will go onto have healthy pregnancies and some won't. I'm sorry you're going through this

Unfortunately there's no way to know, hopefully you'll get some answers tomorrow. During my last pregnancy I had a subchorionic haemorrhage at about 6 weeks, quite an alarming red bleed; luckily I was expecting it as a couple of days before I'd had an early scan and the sonographer said he could see a pocket of blood that probably would be expelled soon. They can happen when the egg implants, or the placenta grows into the womb lining, and are scary but cause no harm to the baby- hopefully it'll be something like that?
