Ring the MW - and explain. It's not being dramatic x

My midwife is on holiday for 2weeks and she's the only number i have ?

Could you ring your health visitor? Or your nearest gynae / maternity ward? If it's number 2 they are less likely to dismiss you as a worried PFBer. You've been through pregnancy before. If you feel like you need advice, get advice.

Ring the maternity hospital you are attending or your gp.
Has your midwife got a voicemail that she has someone doing her job while she is gone?
If you feel something is wrong then it’s ok to ask for help.

Your notes should have loads of numbers in there for midwife team, maternity unit etc.

If not look at your booking appointment letter that should have a number for the midwife team too.

Bluebirdsky · 30/03/2018 21:56

I would ring 111 and ask for some advice; some maternity units won't see you at 16 weeks but 111 should know.

Rachie1986 · 30/03/2018 23:02

How are you doing OP? Did you get advice? X

Pickledgerkingsareathing · 31/03/2018 00:56

Won't see me as I'm over 14weeks and under 24 :(

That sounds like total bullshit. I'd just go into the hospitals day assessment unit aka foetal assessment unit and insist on being seen. That's where you go when it's not early pregnancy and it's not labour.

It's a bunch of midwives and one doctor usually. It's where they do movement checks, BP checks etc. Just say your midwife is on leave and you didn't know where else to go.

Prusik · 31/03/2018 07:12

I know it's not a thorough check but my gp checked for a heartbeat once for me

Fruitcocktail6 · 31/03/2018 13:09

Won't see me as I'm over 14weeks and under 24

What? Who on earth told you that?

3luckystars · 31/03/2018 14:15

Who won’t see you? Did you phone the hospital or the gp? Do your notes have other phone numbers on them?

Pickledgerkingsareathing · 31/03/2018 22:58

Heartbeat checks don't mean much they only listen in for a minute so there is no accurate representation of what's going on or causing you pain and early pregnancy told me that I am over 14weeks so they will not scan me

Loandbeholdagain · 31/03/2018 23:04

Do they not do 1-2 hour tracking where you are? I’ve had several (2 pregnancies) and they put a belt to track hb over a period of time. I’ve also been sent for scans to check, on same day I went to the assessment unit.... what you’ve said sounds very unusual. Are yousure you haven’t been given misinformation by the midwife somehow?

Pickledgerkingsareathing · 31/03/2018 23:12

No I spoke to the midwife and the lady at my early pregnancy they don't do belt monitoring at 16 weeks
