Morning ladies, hope you are all okay 😊
I remembered reading somewhere that hot tubs are a no no when pregnant...could the same be said about jacuzzi bath’s? We’re booked to go away for the weekend soon and I picked the room because of the bath lol. It felt like too trivial a question for the midwife and it doesn’t matter if I can’t useit but just wondered what you thought about it?

Just don't make it too hot and you'll be fine. There was a thread on this yesterday.

Also I prefer to have someone else around in case I struggle to get out (31 weeks) or get a bit faint.

If you can control the temperature then it should be fine but my worry would be how well it’s cleaned - pipes could be full of bacteria 😬

Thanks Clare, I will have a look for that thread 😊
Oh Melamine i hadn’t even thought of that 😩 lol

The theoretical risk this advice is based on is regarding raised body temp during first trimester and potential increased risk of neural tube defects. After the first trimester it's more about your comfort. I've felt fine having hot baths every day and used (not very hot) saunas for no more than 10 minutes during first trimester.

Agree that jacuzzis are generally grim but am not aware that any pregnant woman has ever come to harm using one. There are very strict rules around cleaning them.

Thank you, I’ll be about 8 weeks when we go (I think) so will be careful on the temperature!
