I know that the advice is generally keep doing anything you've previously done unless feeling unwell BUT, about 9 weeks ago I started c25k. I'm on week 5, run 3 tomorrow (averaging 2 runs a week, hence being out of sync).

Do you think I can keep it up so long as I feel ok? My last labour was awful and it's only in the last 2/3 months I've felt able to start exercising again. I was fit pre ds (now 2) but stopped when pregnant, which I regretted. Really hoping to be much healthier this time round.

Yes, I think you can. Especially as you're doing it less frequently anyhow, and you could perhaps consider repeating weeks, so the increase is really gentle.

Just make sure you listen to your body - be aware that your centre of gravity will change, and your ligaments may soften. If you start getting aches and pains, or feel breathless, then start reversing the weeks or switch to just walking.

Make sure you have a really good bra!!

Thanks, yes hadn't thought of a bra, I have tiny boobs so use a cheapo sports bra, but they grow massive in pregnancy!

BTW, I have no relevant qualifications (nor was I a runner during the child-producing years). So probably worth checking with your MW idc, or asking a sports coach with experience of active pregnancies.

I'm a big believer in listening to your body and keeping active in pregnancy. If you feel up to it then i can't see what harm can be done by carrying on. I've kept up running and the gym/boot camp during both pregnancies and am so glad I did.

Thanks girl. I've been for my run today week 5, run 3- 20 mins of running plus warm up and cool down. Im impressed I did it but glad I did.
