It's probably nothing to worry about but since I had the flu jab I've had a very very bad cold I've been coughing non-stop I have a sore throat I've had headaches and I'm generally exhausted and in bed. I'm worried that as I've lost my appetite and I'm really tired it could be affecting my bub? I definitely know from my 12 week scan that it doesn't like it when I cough the midwife made me cough to try and get it to move and it threw its little arms up in the air. Even though I feel awful will my baby be ok?

The baby will be fine Hun, I had flu and sickness bug when pregnant and mine now a healthy 5 month old, good luck 😁

It will be fine. Some viruses can do harm but the generic coughs, colds and even winter vomiting do not.
Stay hydrated, rest, and if you have a fever keep it down with paracetamol only. Take your vitamins and just rest - it’s been a sod of a winter for bugs. If you suspect a bacterial infection get to the GP.
I’m pregnant too and have a toddler and have been ill almost constantly since December.

Your baby will be fine, babies can survive in the most challenging of conditions including war zones and refuge camps so it will take more than a bad cold to harm yours. Just get plenty of rest and keep your fluid levels up and hopefully you will be feeling better soon Thanks

Thanks everyone, Its just hard to imagine when you feel awful that the baby isn't also feeling it. Im glad Im worrying about nothing, I kinda thought I was but I just feel so horrible.
I am resting, Ive been 3 days off work now which isn't ideal but I dont want to make myself worse. Sorry you've been ill for so long @hypermice I can't imagine looking after a toddler being pregnant and feeling this way! Good to know the sickness didn't affect your bub @mummyj hopefully mine is completely oblivious to the whole thing and just relaxing in there
