Ten weeks gone and don't really feel pregnant anymore

Hi everyone.

I'm 21 and ten weeks pregnant with my first child. I found out quite early on (4 weeks) due to severe nausea, and this continued until I was around nine weeks. Weeks 7-8 were the worst, I felt horrendously ill and had no appetite.

However, for the past week or so the nausea has decreased significantly. Now, instead of feeling sick 24/7 I'll only feel sick for five/ten minutes out of the day, and will feel fine the rest of the day.

My appetite has also returned with a vengeance, and I've managed to gain back the four pounds I lost in the first few weeks.

Whilst I'm partly relieved that I feel well now, I'm also terrified that the decrease in nausea indicates that something is going wrong! My boobs are still very sore (and seem to be growing by the day!) and my lower abdomen has started to feel quite firm in the last few days. I'm also still quite tired, so I'm still getting plenty of symptoms. However, due to the nausea all but disappearing I really don't feel pregnant anymore!

Argh, pregnancy is so worrying! Please say I'm just being overly anxious?

Thanks Flowers

I think weeks 10 is where the placenta takes over so nausea can decrease - or so I've been told by the midwife!
Congratulations on your pregnancy xx

This happened to me. But the nausea returned in the last trimester!!! My daughter is nine years old now 😊.
You have lots of other symptoms, so try to enjoy this time. If you are really worried speak to your GP or ring 111.
Lots of women do only get nausea/sickness for the first few months, so this is quite common. Congratulations and best wishes. ⭐️

Snap! 10 weeks too and not much nausea this week. I Feltham awful the first 8 weeks, so bad I took meds. Now I’m worried the baby has just vanished. But funny you say you feel the same. Perhaps it is the hormones settling down. X

I’m 10 weeks and the nausea has decreased for me too. I think it’s normal as the others have said, placenta just taking over. I’m so glad to be feeling a bit brighter!

Hi lovely,

I'm 12 weeks today and for the last week I convinced myself something wasn't right because all my symptoms had gone, I ended up booking a private scan because i was so convinced and there was my beautiful healthy baby on the screen.

It's totally normal for symptoms to fade at this point, try not to worry lovely x

The exact same thing happened to me, the nausea just seemed to ease overnight and I convinced myself something was wrong. I was so convinced that I was absolutely dreading my 12 weeks scan as I thought they were going to say there was no heartbeat. That was last Friday and there was a strong heartbeat and a little baby kicking away on the screen! I know it isn't easy but try to relax and enjoy the easing of symptoms!

Hi, congrats!!

I'm 10 weeks on Sunday and am in the same position as you. Nausea has pretty much gone! Boobs are still tender though. Also couple of nights ago I realised my lower stomach was quite a lot firmer than usual so I'm glad to hear someone else has this too, thought I was imagining things.

notaneasyjourney · 27/03/2018 14:08

I had the exact same thing. I was shitting myself so much that I actually paid for a private scan (had an MC previously). Baby was fine. He's nearly three now. Smile

BiscayTrafalgarFitzroy · 27/03/2018 14:35

I have exactly the same thing! I was going to start a thread but then saw this one.

I'm 10 weeks today. Since my bfp I have felt like I have permanent pmt (so moody!) and really exhausted.

Over the past few days I'm feeling like my old self again. Less moody and more energy. I should be glad but of course now I'm worrying there's something wrong.

Sounds like the placenta starts working around now so hopefully it's that.

TheMogget · 27/03/2018 14:54

Totally normal for it to fade now, I am on countdown to get there as I'm so sick of feeling so crappy the whole time!

Now you get the good bit!

@CobaltRose

I am exactly the same. I am 10 weeks and I have this conversation with my DH all the time. Its my 1st baby, and I feel so normal sometimes? My boobs ache and feel super heavy 24/7, I feel sick as a dog in the mornings then take my folic acid and I feel absolutely fine the rest of the day. I worry to as I have had no spotting nothing, was even told i'm a low risk patient as everything is smooth. I just fee like I constantly want to buy a pregnancy test just to check i'm still pregnant you know? I do love that someone else feels the same as me! So nice to read about it makes me feel more normal. Smile
