Pregnant after miscarriage

Hi,

This is a bit of a long one but I feel like I need some advice and hear others stories.

So, I am 20 y/o and on the 3/1/18 I found out I was pregnant. Due to my periods being irregular I didn't think much of it. When I did calculate how long it was since my last period, I realised that I was probably about 10 weeks at the time. I managed to get a ultrasound at about 12/13 weeks but there was no heart beat and my baby had stopped growning about 8 weeks. I had no warning signs or singles that I had had a misscarridge so I was in total shock. On the 19th Jan I had to go through with getting rid of the pregnancy and did so by taking the pills.

I got my first proper period again on the 19-2-18. On approx 15-3-18 I did another pregnancy test this time it came back negative. I started counting my days as if I would if my periods were regular meaning that I should be due a period on the 19-3-18. A few days passed and no period in sight other than pains in my abdominal area which felt like period pains. On the 23rd of March I did another pregnancy and it came back as positive.

I am absolutely petrified of what might happen and if I will MC again. I just wanted to know if there's any others out there with similar stories? Also would it be possible to do an early scan to ensure everything seems good with this one?

I feel so worried, I am due to start my degree this September so may have to now put that on hold as there's no way I could balance uni and a brand new born baby., Not with all of the placements. It makes it a little more tough that my partner is potentially joining the armed forces so training will be all through my pregnancy and after the birth.
Thanks x

I had two missed miscarriages last year exactly like yours. The first one I had some brown spotting at 11 weeks (no other indication that anything was amiss), this prompted me to get a scan which showed the HB had stopped at 7 weeks. Second time I had absolutely no spotting or pain in the slightest, just got to the 12 week scan to be informed the heartbeat had stopped at 9 weeks. All very devastating and horrible. I am now 8 weeks pregnant so I am very aware that the next fortnight is absolutely vital for me and if my baby can make it through it, chances are it’ll survive.

As for early scans, I wouldn’t bother. I was incredibly anxious last time so paid for two early private scans which showed strong heartbeats only to miscarry anyway. Pointless.

Hope all goes well for you this time.
