Best time to try for second baby?

I was wondering if anyone can give me advice on when to start trying for second baby. My daughter has just turned one and we've started to think about having a second. Obviously everyone is different so I know there's not right and wrong time to start trying. However it would be good to hear everyone's experiences with age gaps etc. I would love to have her sibling reasonably close in age as I think it'll be nice for dd but is that going to be insanely hard work?

I have almost exactly 2 years between my 2, conceived when DD was 15 months. DS is only 3 months but so far so good. It was a bit tricky for the first few weeks but we've settled into a good routine. I lucked out and have had a very easy and chilled baby this time though, that's helped a lot. He's happy to just lie on the playmat and watch me play with toddler and doesn't need me to hold him to nap. So just make sure you have an easy baby and you'll be fine Grin

We started trying when dd1 was one. Dd2 was born when dd1 was 2.5 it was tiring especially at the end of the pregnancy with on days with a cranky toddler but we got the double buggy and got out of the house as much as we could

Yeah I think we're going to start ttc in July/August. So if we catch the first time they'll be just over 2 years apart. My dd was not the easiest baby. Completely lovable but always on the go. Ever since she was born! Getting much easier now (touchwood!) as she's in her own cot and we have a good routine. Fingers crossed the next baby is well behaved then ha ha!
