Baby bump!

Hi MN! Brand new to this site and first posting Smile

I'm 6 weeks 6 days pregnant, had an early scan due to bleeding and pain, everything ok (thank goodness)! One thing I've noticed however is that I look 5 months pregnant! Now I'm aware that this is not a baby bump per se as I'm very early, but was just wondering if anyone else experienced a dramatic increase in size (whether down to constipation, bloating, water retention etc) so early on...? It's my first baby and always expected I would be flat belly central for at least another few weeks!

Feeling like a fatty and know it's going to be a while until I can pass it off as a proper bump rather than one too many burgers... any similar experiences?

Hello!! Im almost 12 weeks but know exactly what you mean, i feel heavy and bloated and my belly is popping out!! This is my first too so they say you show later but i really feel a difference already. And ive not been eating much as have had bad sickness so cant put it down to that either!!

Its a weird feeling but im embracing it Grin

I'm 12 weeks with my first and have already ordered maternity work trousers so I'm more comfortable at work

mintich · 23/03/2018 16:56

Yep 11 weeks and quite a bump! It was exactly the same with my first. It's mostly bloating I think

Peanut91 · 23/03/2018 16:57

I'm also nearly 12 weeks and I have definitely noticed a bump forming. My clothes have become so uncomfortable and tight and I had to go buy some jeans in a bigger size this week 😭

CallieAllie · 23/03/2018 17:00

Thanks for your answers! Must be bloating. Baby is only the size of a blueberry! Can't wait until I have a proper bump!

The first 12 weeks of pregnancy are sloooow..

I hate this stage too as you just look fat! I love when it's a proper round bump

CallieAllie · 23/03/2018 17:07

@mintich especially having never been through it before, I have no idea what to expect. Nobody teaches you these things...

I'm 12 weeks and my bump comes and goes, depending on the bloat-levels. I do not fit into my favourite pair of jeans anymore though. Have to hold the button and button hole together with a hair tie. Can't wait for a proper bump either. So far I just feel like I've eaten too much for several days in a row.
@CallieAllie it is awfully slow, I totally agree! haven't got my first scan until next week and the days just aren't going by fast enough.

Spanglyprincess1 · 23/03/2018 19:14

I'm six months and still not got a proper bump and no one has said they can tell I'm pregnant. I just look fat and feel tierd....figures crossed to getting it soon!

I thought I looked very thick around the middle early on, then that seemed to deflate and was eventually replaced with a proper bump.

Even if it’s not actual baby it’s because of the baby, don’t feel bad!

Peanut91 · 23/03/2018 19:57

I am 11+1 and have already broken into the maternity clothes. I have noticed a definite bump in the last week or so and my normal clothes were just getting so uncomfortable

CallieAllie · 23/03/2018 20:25

Blimey. Maternity clothes at 11 weeks?! Think I'll probably stick to dresses 🙈

I had to replace my work clothes at 10 weeks as nothing was fitting. Not exavrly maternity clothes but went up a size. Charity shops are amazing! :)
