I’ve had what I think is probably a virus for almost three days. I was up all night with fevers/chills/rigours. My HR is over 130 and I’m short of breath. I’m being totally irrational and panicking that something is seriously wrong with me or baby.

Tell me it will all be okay?

Thanks Hope you hear back soon. The only reassurance I can give is that your body will protect the baby as a priority. Is someone with you?

It will all be ok. I know it's hard not to but panicking won't help. How far along are you x

TarzansPlasticCrocodile · 23/03/2018 06:11

Eyedrops is right, your body will look after the baby but you have done the right thing getting checked out. Lots of rest and even more important with a high temp, lots of fluids. Take care.

DP has had to pop into work to open up but will be home ASAP.

You wouldn’t think I worked in maternity, would you?! 😂

Could your heart rate be linked to anxiety? Hopefully won't be too long until you hear from the doctor.

Prusik · 23/03/2018 06:20

Hope you hear soon op. Can you watch some telly or have a bath to try to calm yourself?

SageYourResoluteOracle · 23/03/2018 06:22

OP- how bad are the rigours? Are you hands and feet cold? Call-backs from emergency GPs can take a while. I don't want to panic you but with your heart-rate as it is, if you've cold extremities then I actually think you need to go to a&e.

minimalpatience · 23/03/2018 06:37

Please go to a&e with that heart rate. It is dangerous regardless of pregnancy.

Didntcomeheretofuckspiders · 23/03/2018 09:06

Had a nebuliser at the emergency GP and have been described oral steroids and antibiotics. For A&E I’m not less breathless by mid-afternoon.

This was me last week, viral bug going round at moment and it's changing all the time.

Started off with sore throat and cold, morphed into strep throat and left me so breathless I was wheezing. Went to doctor to find it's not bacterial bit HR was 150/90 - visit to maternity triage and listen in to baby and check me out and I'm finally settling down now.

Other lady I was talking too in maternity had same thing and she was on nebulizer due to asthma kicking in and need steroids to calm her chest down.

Hope your feeling better soon!
