Pregnant after lyme disease

My mw has referred me to a consultant for my 16 week check. I'm currently 10 weeks because I had LD.

I had Lyme disease 6 years ago, had treatment I now test false positive. Has anyone else been pregnant after Lyme? Was everything ok? Was your baby ok?

TIA 🙂

Hi, I'm sorry I don't really have much advice but I think it's right to refer you to a consultant to be on the safe side. It doesn't necessarily mean it will affect your baby, but I've found with maternity and baby the care is cautious and generally excellent. I thought I'd paste this link - kellymom.com/bf/can-i-breastfeed/illness-surgery/lyme-disease/
I was bitten by a tick whilst breastfeeding my little one around 5 months and was anxious about the implications but this article and a gp I talked to were reassuring. I'm 15 weeks and waiting for a consultant appt in 2 wks as I now have underactive thyroid, I understand the wait can be difficult with your mind imagining all sorts! Hope all is well x

My dearest and one of my oldest friends had Lyme Disease in her 20s and went on to have a baby boy a few years after diagnosis. That baby boy is thirteen now and healthy as a goat. No in utero transmission (I don't think this is something you really have to worry about, in all honesty).

Thank you 🙂 I wasn't concerned at all until the mw referred me. Hopefully they'll put me straight back to mw care as I really want a home birth!

I had Lyme disease a couple of years ago and now have a 4 month old baby. To be honest it didn’t even occur to me that this would be an issue. I didn’t discuss it with my midwives or consultant during pregnancy. My baby is fine. Hope your pregnancy goes well
