First pregnancy and suffer with anxiety as it is Blush! I had my bfp 2 days ago and have had very mild, twingey cramps since. Other than headaches before the bfp, that's all I've got. Think cos it's the first I'm extra sensitive to the twinges but wondered if others had the same at 5 weeks? Thank you ThanksThanksHalo

Yes completely normal. It can cause a bit of anxiety as constantly feels as though AF is going to start but it's totally normal. Only a cause for concern if you experience any bleeding with them (and even then things can still be fine). Congratulations on your BFP x

I am also 5 weeks + 1 day and got a bfp today. I didn't bother testing as I have been getting mild af cramps and twinges too so was waiting for it to arrive. mild cramps are normal during early pregnancy as the embryo settles in.

congrats!

Congrats! Mild cramps are a symptom of early pregnancy and completely normal.

I had severe cramps at 5 weeks and ended up calling 111 as I was in agony for 5 hours and couldn't stand up. I'd previously had a miscarriage so was extremely worried. But I'm now 36 weeks and everything was fine! I've had cramping and pains all the way through this pregnancy which apparently for some is normal.

I know its worrying but I remember the midwife telling me that pains are only likely to mean something more if they are accompanied by bleeding and / or vomiting.

@ellsharks I'm 5 weeks too and experiencing cramps! They have woken me up in the night for the last week and I also have bad anxiety! My palms haven't stopped sweating since I've found out and I've been making myself dizzy haha! Hopefully will settle down as we go along!

ALS26 · 22/03/2018 16:22

@ellsharks seems we also found out on the same day!!

ellsharks · 22/03/2018 18:46

Thanks everyone! Yeah I need to relax but anxiety has a funny way of stopping that haha! It's so weird at the stage, don't know if I'm coming or going. Just counting down the days to the 12 week scan Grin! Congrats to all xxx

Congratulations @ellsharks Flowers
I've just found out I'm expecting my first & am 5 weeks too Smile It's not sunk in yet! I'm also having cramps & feeling really bloated. I find myself Googling symptoms at all hours... crazy isn't it?!xx

ALS26 · 22/03/2018 21:01

@ellsharks thank you congrats to you too!!! Yes google is a killer! I need to put a block on my phone I swear! If anyone saw my google searches I probably be sectioned 😂😂😂 sometime google reassures me though and sometimes it trebles my worries!!

sammielouise · 22/03/2018 23:07

I'm exactly the same!! I think I'm about 5 weeks too according to ovulation date; for the last few days I've had AF like cramps; so realistic I'm convinced AF will come!! It's horrible. I'm the same with googling Blush

ellsharks · 23/03/2018 09:09

Yeah, well since I wrote this post almost, I've not had a single cramp! I guess waiting game to see whats gonna hit me next haha! Yeah, i find a lot of these posts have reassured me more than panic me - it's ME that starts it off lol. One thing I've found baffling about this experience is how many weeks I actually am. DR said i was 5 as its worked out from 1st day of your last period (18/02), but i think i ovulated on the 2nd March! I guess the 12 week scan will reveal all! xx`

@ellsharks that's exactly the same date as me haha!

ALS26 · 23/03/2018 09:17

The earliest the midwife will see me is the 24th April!! I feel like that's too far away! Have you booked an appointment in?

ellsharks · 23/03/2018 11:13

@ALS26 No my DR told me to wait and I would get something in the post from them and I go online and book. I dont even know what im waiting for! I heard you have a blood test at 8 weeks?

OP posts:
ALS26 · 23/03/2018 11:16

@ellsharks I don't know either 😂😂 I just know I've to go to this appointment on 24th to kick things off

ellsharks · 23/03/2018 11:22

@ALS26 ohhhhhhhhhhh I want a "kicking off" appointment lol! My DR's are shite.

ALS26 · 23/03/2018 11:24

At least your doctor would see you! I rang my drs and they couldn't see me until May!! So I had to refer myself to midwife - they were so unhelpful as I didn't have a clue what I was doing! I'm so nervous!! When will these nerves go away! Have you had any more symptoms? @ellsharks

ellsharks · 23/03/2018 11:38

@als26 I wouldn't even know how to refer myself haha. I dont know, i dont feel too bad today! Just take each day as it comes, and enjoy the beginning is all my sisters have told me as a few months more and youll be wishing you could go back to feeling normal lol! Nothing new - cramps died down and so i feel pretty much normal except my boobs hurt a bit i guess. Its weird but i wanna feel it all haha
