Worried Missed call from the hospital about my results

I just picked up an automated call from the hospital asking me to confirm who I was about my results from my 12 week scan and blood tests which was only last week.
I pressed confirm, or what I thought was confirm and then it said " we have removed you from our records sorry for the error" I called the hospital to ask what the results were and explained what had happened and they said the person I was due to speak to had gone home and wont be back until 9am tomorrow!!
Honestly guys, do you think this is going to be bad news?

Did they say who it was that you need to speak to? If it’s just a community midwife, it’s likely just low iron or something like that. If it’s someone in the antenatal screening department it could be more serious but even so, receiving a call doesn’t mean there is something terrible.

I had a call at a similar time, just after my 12 week scan and assumed the worst.
It turned out to be they wanted to do bloods on the father too, I know its hard but try not to assume the worst.
Messages have to be a bit vague due to data protection - they can't be sure it will be you that picks the message up.

I had a phone call after blood tests, and it was a midwife saying I was mildly anaemic and needed iron tablets. Fingers crossed it's just something routine for you too x

Baby2018 · 21/03/2018 19:41

It was definitely from the hospital not the midwife, Im just worried I have to wait until tomorrow to find out what it is, I really hope it's something like anaemia @iismib Sad

I'm a midwife and sometimes work in the antenatal clinic at the hospital... in my trust it's the community midwives who take the bloods but the antenatal clinic midwives who receive the results and sort through them to be actioned if needs be. It could be something as simple as one of the samples wasn't labelled correctly and needs repeating, or mild anaemia meaning you need iron. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about Smile

don't worry OP it probably is just anaemia, this is exactly what happened to me and I was freaking out so much!

My mum pointed out though if it was serious they would have kept calling you or most likely would have spotted it on the scan with baby.

Baby2018 · 22/03/2018 08:57

Thanks @moochops89 and @TwittleBee Im waiting for the clock to hit 9 so I can call them!

I hope thats the case the baby did look healthy on the scan and they said it's fluid was NT 1.6 so I was hopeful things were ok

This happened to me, or something similar. Turned out they'd mislabelled one of the tests (I'm rhesus negative) so I had to go back to have it redone.

Fingers crossed for you OP - hopefully nothing to worry about!

How did it go?xx

Baby2018 · 22/03/2018 13:21

@Lucylou19 It took 3 phone calls and about an hour of being put on hold to get through

They just said they have it on file that I have very low blood pressure and the initial blood tests looked ok but they are sending some off for further evaluation, they said thats the only thing they had on file they weren't sure why/ who had phoned me...

Not much use at all! Try your MW? They are usually good at finding out for you xx

LucyLou19 · 22/03/2018 16:31

Shocking! Doesn't tell you much at all xx

Baby2018 · 22/03/2018 18:35

It really isn't helpful, whats also not helpful is in the midwife contact details part of my blue book my midwife has only written her name.... Im going to try to get her details from my GP in the morning
