Hi everyone, This is my first post and so please bear with me. I'd love to know if anyone has had a similar experience. In November I had my copper coil taken out because it wasn't sitting right and was uncomfortable. DH and I had been talking about another baby but as we already have two we decided we wouldn't go crazy TTC but just see what happens so I haven't been tracking ovulation or anything.

My cycle is normally 26-28days so when I was 15ish days late and having cramps I went to my doctor. He was so dismissive and said that as I had done two test which were BFN there was no way I was pregnant and it was probably just my age (I'm 35) making my cycle weird.

Move on another 5 days and I was still cramping and very hormonal so I went back and was a bit more pushy. He was really dismissive again but ordered a Hcg blood test just to keep me happy. I had that blood test this morning.

I just feel really low now because I know the chances of me being pregnant are pretty much nothing but its made me realise that I would really love another one and I really feel like there is something wrong but the doctor just isn't interested.....

I'd love to hear if anyone has had any similar experiences?? Anyway sorry for the ramble xxx

The same happened with me, however I had a much nicer doctor! It turned out I’d just not ovulated that month x

My period was about 3 weeks late this month, and I had all sorts of PMS/cramping/bloating. DH said 'you're just run down and it'll turn up eventually' and it did.
I think it's fairly common to get the odd long cycle for no reason...stress or illness can delay ovulation.
If you had a coil your body probably is still getting back to normal.

It's a shame your GP was so dissmissive though.

Thank you both for your replies. Just wondering Greenyogagirl - how did you know you didn't ovulate that month? Were you tracking or could docs test for that? Thanks!

Wasn’t tracking, it’s just what doctor said based on my symptoms etc
