Just looking to see if there are any other
young mums out there I'm currently 18 and expecting my first in 8 weeks when I turn 19, So excited for her to be here and feel so prepared, but a little worried about the looks and things I'll revive I like to think I don't care what other people think but I feel it might put me down, just looking for general conversation about being a young mum so I don't feel so aloneSmile

I'm 20 and due in July 19 when conceived ...I think if we look young we will probably definitely get the looks I do when I have my nephews but just ignore them Hun all that matters it you little one don't let other people looks or opinions put you down

I was a bit older than you when I had my first (23) but my mum friends are all older than me, most of them by 10 years! We've now been friends for 10 years, and honestly don't ever think about the age difference- I knew they were older than me, but it was only when they started having 40th reunions we actually spoke about age and realised there was such a large gap between us! By that point, the "babies" were 7. So I wouldn't worry about age, if you're going to click with someone, you will! Good luck!

My SIL had her first just before her 16th birthday, he's now 18 and a great lad. Age is but a number, you'll get comments no matter what your age / circumstances so just roll with it. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine!

Hey,

This is something I worry about too! People can be really judgey and give the worst looks. I even avoid buying things in the shops and buying them online instead. Now my bump is getting to the point where there is no hiding it. And I don’t want to! I’m so proud of my little clomid/infertility baby.

Despite being engaged, owning my own house, great job ect. I know people will just think I’m missing my exams to look after my baby. Haha. Although I’m actually 23, most people think I’m 16 or less! I’m only little with a baby face!

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to popping their little balloon if someone does say something! Also when he’s 5 and If I don’t look any different then him calling me mum should get a few bewildered looks. At the end of the day I think you just have to laugh about it!

Tbh I do worry about clicking with other mums!

I was 19 when I had my first son, he's almost 3 now. I'm due 2nd boy in 7 weeks, I'm 22 now.
I'm guessing you have a family nurse, area dependant of course.. I'm sure she would be able to help you out with finding local young mum's groups. I joined one when my son was 3 months old and it was the best thing I done for my mental health, confidence and sanity!
Congrats and good luck Flowers
