Myself and DP have just booked to go to Dubai as a break before baby is due! I’ll be around 25 weeks pregnant and struggling to think/find things to wear! I still want to try look good even though I won’t be feeling my best so hoped to find a few nice outfits for day and night that’ll help me feel less like a whale! Just thought I’d post on chance anyone has any suggestions

I went on a beach holiday at 28 weeks and just wore my usual beach wear, no maternity clothes. Maxi dresses still fitted, bikinis and swimsuits still fitted. I wore a light jacket over the top on cooler days.

Thank you, I’ll pull out all my holiday stuff and see what I can squeeze into! Not sure if I’ll be confident enough for the bikini tho x

I've just been away (26 weeks) and wore my usual summer stuff except for shorts. Maxi dresses, summer dresses, swimwear etc all still fitted fine.

None of the airlines I've flown with required you to have a letter before 36 weeks (for a single baby). It will be clear on your airline's website. Just take your blue book, just in case.

OhBergine · 21/03/2018 16:32

Not sure who you're flying with but Just had a Google and Emirates require a letter after 29 weeks - interesting!

BalloonFlowers · 21/03/2018 16:45

You will need a fit to fly before 36 weeks - that's the cut off for flying. 25weeks I suspect you will be ok. How far along will you be when you return?

When are you in Dubai??? It's going to be HOT!

I'm currently (not pregnant) in that part of the world in linen trousers and teeshirt. So, suggest loose, light trousers, maxi dresses, kaftans with teeshirt/vest underneath, swimming stuff. Sandals. Hat. Light throw in case you need to cover up, or the A.C. is fierce. That's pretty much my wardrobe. My skin was very sensitive to the sun when pregnant - cover and cream in the sun.

I’m flying to Abu Dhabi next week and my doc is giving me a cert to fly - I’m 28 weeks now. I was asked for one going from Dubai to Dublin 2 years ago when pregnant with my DD1 - I was about 24 weeks then so please do get one! I have known a specific airline to not be very assisting to pregnant ladies.

I live in this part of the world as well - I’m currently wearing maxi dresses, leggings and t shirts/light shirts, flip flops. I bought a size larger in my normal bikini in Matalan for maternity wear - fits fine!

I managed to fit in my normal bikini at this stage because it was fairly low so bump didn't get in the way.
I did wear loose dresses or kaftans a lot in the day as felt very self conscious of my pregnancy thighs!
In the evenings I wore more loose dresses, or a maternity dungaree dress.

Great! Thank u for all the advice! Tried calling midwife today as I wanted to be safe than sorry but no answer! I’ll try again tomorrow but if not am I able to get one from my gp? I go in two weeks so I’ll continue to try. I’ll be 26 weeks when I come home so I just thought best being prepared with proof all is ok!
I’ll pack lots of light clothing. I’ll try find some light cover ups etc and shawls etc for night and will be prepared with sunscreen and take a lot of time in the shade! Was slightly concerned about the heat too but I’ll make sure I take lots of breaks and in shade mainly and stay hydrated!
